Hi Jane, I received an email today from Peter Hogseth's granddaughter, and she had enough confirming information that coincides with what you provided, so I am very confident I have the Minnesota Peter nailed. Also, it looks like you gave me some good hints on tracking down Massachussetts Peter, although that might have to wait until a later date. Thank you so much! --Steve

Yesterday I was lucky, and was able to easily make contact with two granddaughters of the Massachusetts Peter, and I got more confirmation from them that he is a relative, as are they are now "new" distant cousins of mine. Peter's father was a brother of my grandfather, Martin Hogseth. Once again ... thanks to all! --Steve

Fabulous job following up Steve. Thanks for the update!
I believe the granddaughters of Massachusetts Peter are your second cousins, once removed. :D
