Thanks for all. It will yake some time to put all together.
But Ida had a brother Siegvart. He used the name Olsen at Norway census 1865. He may use this or Kikebo, as the later family did.
He left Norway Ckristiania 6. July 1877, destnation Granite Falls N. Dakota on skip "Angelo"

Often an immigrant in USA is identified with a marriage record or a death record. These records tell his day-month-year of birth and place of birth, and they tell his parents' names.

What is Siegvart's day-month-year of birth? Where was he born? And will you remind us - what are his parents' names?

What name did Siegvart use in the emigration record you mention?

I think this is the family in 1865:
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/WebCens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=5&filnamn=f60522&gardpostnr=891&merk=891#ovre

If Sigvaert came to US in 1877 it seems likely that there would be some adult attendance as well since he was born about 1864

Probably the birth record for Sigvardt, see #113.

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=8941&idx_id=8941&uid=ny&idx_side=-49

Does not quite match the 1900 Census, since this is Jun 1864 and not Aug 1864 of the Census.
