Siegvarts date of birth is 14.June 1864, date of baptism 13. Sept 1864.

Siegvart was born 14. June 1864 and baptized 31 July 1864.
He jused Siegvart Olsen acording to emigration papers at the local archive.

As lyndal40 found in the 1900 census for the Sivert in Story County, Iowa, birth date given is Aug 1864.

How old was he when he emigrated (per the emigration record)? Was he with an adult?

He left Norway Ckristiania 6. July 1881, destnation Granite Falls N. on skip "Angelo". He was then 17 years old. There were no relative to be seen on the same records. Why he chosed Granite Fals as destination is unknown.

Sorry. The one I used is on paper at the County archive, open at Tuesdays. I belive they are transcripsions of the original records.

This is the wright person but the place is wrong. The birthplace is Svatsum Church in Vestre Gausdal.

Clearly the family in USA believes this George is "your" George (because of the family trees posted on Ancestry.com) but I still cannot see the proof. Perhaps his origin in Norway is part of their oral family history.

There is only one family with one of these in Oppland in 1865:
