I was just laughing, Kåre, because Jackie also reposted a link I posted. You are both gems, and have helped so many people in this forum, including me. Many thanks for all you do.
Mvh

Well, Jane, the reason I posted it was because it came on the end of one of those big lines mentioned earlier and I didn't see the post!

It's a bit peculiar that Karen seems to have gotten the 17 years older in only the American records--and stayed consistently older in them.

Perhaps, if she got an attest to travel, that she was maybe given her husband's first wife data by mistake? Do we have information on the first wife from the family tree online?

Looking at the Ancestry Family Tree leaves me confused about the wives of Anders. The Family Tree lists his first wife as having been born in 1780 and having died in 1838. So were they diivorced shortly after being married. This first child is listed as.
Helle Maria Bikjend
Birth 24 Nov 1821 in Bikjend, Kongsburg, Busakerud Fylke, Norway
Death 1910 in Norway

but finding her gives her parents as Anders and Karen not Helle. See #71.

The Family Tree lists her marriage to Anders on July 10, 1801 Of course the marriage of Anders and Karen is listed as 1820. So none of the children listed in the Family Tree belong to Anne Serine.

Working off the Kongsberg 1840 Census posted by Kåre it would appear that Anders and Helle had at least one child Johan Andersen Bikjend born in 1807. Here he is on the right hand page born Dec 12.

Well here is the marriage of Anders and Anne Serine, not in 1801 as in the Family Tree but in 1802. See July 10, far left hand page.

Factually not at all but this one comes with all the salad on !

And since there's only one date much more likely that it's his baptism rather than his birth date.

The Bikjend curves, the farm is to the right outside the photo link north of Kongsberg max 5 minutes by car.

Its an old farm mentioned as the church property 1574 as "Ødegård" which means the farm was abadoned after the black plague 1349-50.
To the left is the river "Numedalslågen" and across the river is the Bever (Beaver) farm.
Katrine Beaver age 26 in the 1885 census from Minnesota on page one was most likely form that farm.
