I am searching for decendents of my great grandfather Nils family.
He was born 21 Oct 1854 in Fredrickstad and emigrated to Australia on ship Herschel leaving in Sept 1876 and arriving in Adelaide Jan 1877. He had sisters Helmine b 1852, Augusta b 1870 and brothers Ole Sovrin b 1857, Karl Julius b 1859 and Maurentsius b 1862.
Any information appreciated

If I read your question correctly you are looking for Descendants of this family from the 1865 Norwegian Census.

It is possible that this is the youngest daughter in the 1900 Norwegian Census along with her husband and three childfen. The mother Maren could also be living with them.

And the family in the 1910 Norwegian Census. There is no easy way that I know of for finding descendants for Ancestors in Norway.

I notice that you have a Family Tree on Ancestry.com. There is another Family Tree on Ancestry.com that contains Erling Syversen. That tree belongs to

Some of the information in that tree seems to fit your search. As follows.

Augusta Christiansdatter

Probably the death record for Erling Syversen, It is likely that he was a seaman since there are numerous records for a Erling Syverson in the Immigratin section of Ancestry.com. He is listed as a Motorman in most of them.

"Gravminner i Norge" shows Erling Syversen (1904-1975) and Astrid Pauline Syversen (1905-1981) buried on Nordre Gravlund, Oslo.
Astrid Pauline in 1910 census. She was also listed temporary living with her uncle

Many thanks for all your information. I was in contact with Uno earlier this year when he answered my post on ancestry.com and started the Nilsson tree for me (my great grandmother Johanna Nilsson came from Karlshamn Sweden and married Nils in Australia). Uno then started on the Norwegian family for me.
I have managed to find 2 1st cousins on my g grandmothers side and we have filled in family gaps in the maternal tree so now I am starting on paternal tree.
Thank you again
Robyn

Augusta was my grandmother, my father was Erling, born 21.09. 1904. His Brothers, Sverre, Johan, Anton, Trygve og Syver all lived in Lisleby, Fredrikstad until they died. They all have descendants. My father moved to Oslo in the early 1930.ies and lived there until he died in 1975, 30.06. He worked as a carpenter, so did also his brother Syver, who started a small fabric in Lisleby whitch is still working. His grandson and his son again are continuing.
If you have an e-mail adress I could send you some pictures of the Syversen family from many years ago, Augusta and her husband and sons.
