I found 8 children of Ole Eriksen & Anne Ingebrigtsdatter in Bolsøy, Møre og Romsdal, Norway: 1. Ingrid Olsdatter Sigerset, born 10 Apr 1824. (#5, right page) 2. Ingebrigt Olsen b. 12 Aug 1826 3. nn. Olsen b. 04 Sep 1829, death: 04 Sep 1829 4. Elen Anna Olsdatter b. 20 Jan 1831 5. Ole Wogdius Olsen b. 22 Nov 1833 6. Caroline Olsdatter b. 12 May 1836 7. Anna Pauline Olsdatter b. 30 Mar 1841 8. Christiana Olsdatter Röbek, born 26 May 1844. (#16)
The family lived on Sigerset farm in 1824, and on Röbek farm in 1844...

My...that's a twenty-year spread. So when born/baptised at Sigerset farm in Bolsøy parish, Oliver S. Everson's mother is "Ingrid Olsdatter Sigerset." When the family moves to Røbek farm in Røvik parish in 1844, she is "Ingrid Olsdatter Røbek." I'm saying it out loud with hopes someone will correct if wrong.
In 1848 an Ingeborg Olsd. Røbek serves as baptismal witness/sponsor at the baptism of child Anne on 25 April 1848 (born November 1847), parents are gardbruger Ole Eriksen Røbek and Ingeborg Olsdatter. Is this the same Ole Eriksen with a second wife? Berit Eriksd. Røbek is also a sponsor. (Møre og Romsdal fylke, Bolsøy, Ministerialbok nr. 555A04 (1843-1869), Fødte og døpte 1848, side 36-37) |

This forum confirms her name as Inger Olsdtr. Sigerset Røbekk, b. 10 apr 1824 on Sigerset, Bolsøy, Møre og Romsdal, (daughter of Ole Eriksen Staurset Sigerset Røbekk and Anne Ingebrigtsdtr. Dalset (Røbekk)).
It says unmarried woman Inger Olsdtr. Røbekk had an illegitimate babyboy named Fredrik Myhre in 1851. Her first illegitimate child. The father was married man Gudmund Frederik Mürer from Bergen, presently separated from his wedded wife. The young mom appears at the confirmation on 8. October 1838 i the Church of Bolsøy: Inger Olsdtr. Røbekk, born 10. April 1824. Father: Ole Eriksen Røbekk. Mother: Ane Ingebrigtsdatter. Next Inger Røbekk takes off for Bergen. Emigrant nr. 9 from Molde:; Inger Olsdtr. Røbekk (30 1/2 years old) to Bergen on 4. October 1854.
And the rest is history...

Wow the dish on Inger! Fredrik Myhre was baptized at Molde. He would be a half-brother to Oliver S. Everson in the USA.
From the thread, "[Fredrik] is observed as an adopted son of a family in Sandviken (district of Bergen town) in the Bergen sensus of 1865. Our assumption will therefore be that the halfbrother from Molde grew up to become an adult."
Gudmund's wife went to Denmark an appears there in the 1850 census (well before Fredrik's birth) and remarried there.
Another comment is that the parish Bolsøy was incorporated into Molde, which explains why later records say Oliver's mother was born at Molde.
Back in an edit with more from that fabulous thread:
07 October 1877 WEDDING Fredrik Mürer, born 22-10-1851 in Molde, M&R his father: Gudmun(d) Mürer bachelor, fisherman [now living at] Hermannsdalen, Moskenes island, Flagstad, Lofoten, Nordland. to Jørgine Lorentine Krom Thomasdtr. born 13-2-1859 at Hermannsdalen. Her father: Thomas Johannesen Hermannsdalen
The surname Mürer is an alternate spelling of Myhre.
III. Fredrik Gudmundsen Mürer Hermannsdalen, f. 22 okt 1851 i Bolsøy el. Fredrik døde i Hermannsdalen, Moskenesøy, Nordland. A. Alfred Fredriksen Myhre, f. 1877 i Hermannsdalen, Flakstad, Nordland. B. Elise Fredriksdtr. Myhre, f. 1879 i Hermannsdalen, Moskenesøy, Flakstad, Nordland. C. Lothe Fredriksdtr. Myhre, f. 1882 i Hermannsdalen, Flakstad, Nordland. D. Thomas Fredriksen Myhre, f. 1887 i Hermannsdalen, Flakstad, Nordland. E. Fredrike Fredriksdtr. Myhre, f. 1887 i Hermannsdalen, Flakstad, Nordland. F. Klara Fredriksdtr. Myhre, f. 1889 i Hermannsdalen, Flakstad, Nordland. G. Gustav Fredriksen Myhre, f. 1896 i Hermannsdalen, Flakstad, Nordland. H. Thora Fredriksdtr. Myhre, f. 1896 i Hermannsdalen, Flakstad, Nordland.
So...there's some cousins for Nancy! :D |

Has anyone had a chance yet to seek Peter A Everson, born 1867 in Norway, in the USA (probably on the West Coast)? I am striking out.
I think the 1903 city directory which says he is a "miner" might be a mistake for "mariner." If he was a seaman in the USA, as he was in Norway, then he could actually be living just about anywhere. The company that Oliver worked for grew and developed into a huge international shipping concern, and I suppose its captains and other crew might establish a home base in any number of places. |

This may be he, not enough info to positively rule in or out, age matches approximately:

Again: Inger Oldatter Røbekk married Peder Gerhard Iversen on 16 Nov 1856 in Domkirken, Bergen; Their first child Petro Theodor Iversen, born 29 Jul 1856
It was not unusual for a couple's first child to be born before the wedding
1865 census for Fredrik (I don't know how to make those tidy links that other people use) http://www.rhd.uit.no/folketellinger/ftliste_e.aspx?ft=1865&knr=1301&kenr=0001&bnr=2670&lnr=000

Excellent - and the 1918 death (for Peter Iverson, age 51, registered in Seattle, King, Washington, USA) would explain the difficulty finding a strong candidate in other records. This record can be ordered and will likely tell his parents and birth place. The year of the terrible worldwide flu epidemic....
There's a Peter L Iverson born 1867 Norway, in Franklin County, Washington in 1910, age 43, seems to live alone (I haven't checked original yet). Another 1910 listing is Peter A. Iverson born about 1869 in Norway in Pierce County, Washington, but I think it's the same guy in 1900 and 1920 and 1930 with wife Gina, which seems wrong for the 1903 city directory listing. |
