I am looking for birth and death dates on my maternal great-great grandparents named Ole Olsen Langledet and Inge Olsdatter Braek at their marriage in Lom, Skjak, Oppland on October 27, 1831. Their daughter Anne Olsdatter was born to them on Feb 28,1837 in Skjak, Oppland. Anne married Iver Thoresen Braek on Mar 15, 1854 in Skjak. Anne and Iver allegedly emigrated to the US in 1901. I do not know if Ole and Inge had any other children other than Anne.

Maybe this one. See number 5 right hand page, Born in 1833. Note the presence of Lars Langledet as a witness. Probably spelled Torø,

You might have also noticed in the 1865 Norwegian Census link posted above, there is a Kari Olsdatter listed. as born in 1846. This is probably her born Jan 7, 1846, parents are Ole Olson Bræk and Inge Olsdatter. See Number 29

below, kindly shared from another website by the maker of the GENI tree.

Men her, i Brotene, den allerinderste grænd, her fik jeg finde noget andet.

Tried to translate above with Gramtrans, but let's hope some kind soul here in the forum will come and explain better. Written on the occasion of the eldest daughter's wedding? Ole and Inge have no son and she must take over the farm. Along came a good lad who asked for her hand in marriage? And Ole said he had no objection, but put a condition on it (???not a good condition, don't understand what), and an old grandmother took pity on the poor young folks and stepped in to bail them out of the condition, something she said. ?????

Since the parents Ole and Inge live with Iver Thoresen and Anne Olsdatter in 1865 census, presumably the first-born, Torø, died? and Anne is "the eldest daughter."

A candidate for Inge, see righthand page. Date could be May 4, 1813, or May 14, 1813. See second name from bottom. Father is Ole Toresson.

A gold-mine
A good translation, 1800 Norwegian has changed a lot and a translater will have some problems with that.

A small addition; ......The farm (Bræk) laid in the innermost of the innermost in Lom.................. his coming son-in-law had to promise two things; be hospitable to good visitors (læsere, haugianere; dissenters) after he took over the farm and not sleep in the same bed before they were married, which he accepted............

Thanks to everyone for your help. I'm in need of some clues on how to locate death information on the following:
Ole/Ola Olsen Langledet, born ca 1800 and married 10/27/1831 at Skjak and his wife Inge Olsdatter Braek born May 4, 1813. It appears that neither of them ever emigrated.

Peter, in case no one on forum responds with the information you're requesting--you do have the option to look for yourself in the church registers for Ole's and Inge's death. They were alive in 1865 so start with that year and go forward in the Skjack deaths & funerals in the church register....
