Marie's entry in the 1910 census also has some information about Erik. She has listed that she has had 3 children and 3 children are living, so Erik must be somewhere in 1910....

Marie Lonane age 64, sister-in-law, widowed, born about 1856 Norway, to USA 1904

Olise must be Marie's sister Olise Ericksen Solemsdal born 1866 in Kristianssund (according to the 1885 Norway census in Kristiansund kjøpstad). Father Erik Eriksen Solemsdal b 1823 and mother Ingeborg [Andersdtr] b 1826. Census says their brother Eilert Eriksen Solemsdal was born 1863 Kristianssund, occupation Skibstømmermand (ship's carpenter, I think):

Olise and Anton travelled back to Norway in 1910. The person they list in the country they are going to is Ole Dalen. Probably the Ole Dahle that shows up in the 1865 Census posted by JaneC.

Well Harald, I am not sure we have added any good information to your search for what happened to Erik Lønning after he arrived in Philadelphia. However there are two Family Trees on Ancestry.com covering the descendants of

Eilert Ingeman Eriksen
Birth abt 1864 in Norway
Death 30 Sep 1950 in Seattle, King, Washington

and his wife
Marie O Lovold
Birth abt 1867 in Norway
Death

And their five children.

The owners of the Trees are.
StanRoss95
Longview, Washington

and glowski1947

Hi Lyndal40
I don't know who Bertha Nilson is. You may have right that this woman should belong to the person above Erik. But you never know. Perhaps ha had a gilfrend and left his wife
and children. That's happend before. But I stick to your solution. Lol.

Hi Jane.

My mother told me that my grandfather died about 1918. I don't know who told her that. It's
not confirmed. That's why I try to find out where and when he died.
