Hi Anton,

Wow thank you, that’s amazing, yes that’s him, I was looking to see how we got the name Klemesrud, as the farm it’s associated with Sigvart (my great grandfather) only worked there, we don’t really know much outside of the US Sigvart went to the US aged 19, so although he could speak Norwegian, no one else in the family can, we also do not have much history on either side of our families descendants, your comments are most helpful thank you once again for your help

best wishes Sam

I have not yet found the baptism record for a Abelone father Hans in either Innvik or Styrn, Sogn og Fjordane but I think that this is likely her parents. Child is Cornelius born in 1841, farm is Kaarstad and the parents are Abelone Villlumsdatter and Hans Hansen.

It is likely that the mother Abelone Villumsdatter died around or before the daughter Abelone was born about 1845. Hans remarried in 1850 to Mari Bertina Knudsdatter.

Well Sam, I had assumed from your original post that you knew a lot about the Sigvard and his family. Perhaps I was a little off base. If so here is some info on the Klemsrud side of your family. Some of the info should apply to Sigvard also

Here is the baptism record for Sigvard (Sigvarth) also in Aurskog, Akershus parish.

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/255/pd00000032663318

The original record is Nr. 48, last entry on the page. Born 8 April, 1869. The farm is Klemetsrud.

Here is Sigvard with his family in the 1875 Norwegian Census. Farm is spelled Clemmetsrud her but it is the same farm.

This is likely the marriage of Ole Henriksen and Randine Hansdatter in 1854. The Ancestry.com records gives us the names of their fathers which is useful for going further back in time.

Ole Hendriksen
in the Norway, Select Marriages, 1660-1926
Name: Ole Hendriksen
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Birth Date: 1829
Marriage Date: 1854
Marriage Place: Aurskog, Akershus, Norway
Father:
Hendrik Olsen
Spouse:
Randine Hansdr
FHL Film Number: 255798
Reference ID: 2:1LZQV0R

Randine Hansdr
in the Norway, Select Marriages, 1660-1926
Name: Randine Hansdr
[Randine Olsen]
Gender: Female
Age: 23
Birth Date: 1831
Marriage Date: 1854
Marriage Place: Aurskog, Akershus, Norway
Father:
Hans Olsen
Spouse:
Ole Hendriksen
FHL Film Number: 255798
Reference ID: 2:1LZQV0R

https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/2334304:60095

Original is both hard to read and somewhat confusing as the exact date of marriage is not given.

Nr. 30.

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/kb20060314010314

This record gives the farm names associated with the bride and groom. The fathers listed here are not the fathers but rather the groms man and the bridesmaid. The person doing the transcription was clearly not Norwegian.

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/327/pv00000009932177

In a different church book that I found on Ancestry.com the date of their marriage is January 14.

Found the original after a little looking. Nr. 3
