Trying to find information about Ellen Olson (my GG-Grandmother). Born August 27, 1857 in Norway. She married (unknown date) Carl Wilhelm Murner who was born in Sweden in 1849. They lived in South Dakota (USA) where she died in 1902/1903.

Hi. Just to start, your great-grandmother is buried in Graceland cemetery in Mitchell, Davison County, South Dakota, USA - is that right? If her death was registered, the death record might tell her parents' names.
Her tombstone is inscribed
Ele Murner
wife of Carl Murner (1849-1929)
Born Aug. 27, 1857
Died May 24, 1902
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=pv&GRid=110319211&PIpi=84651122

Do you have any sources for her date of immigration? The 1900 US census should list a date of immigration.

From the ELCA database, baptism of Ole Wilhelm Murner in Jordan Lutheran in Green County, Wisconsin, pg 50, #14:

Ole Wilhelm Murner
father Carl Murner
mother Ele Olsdatter
b. 28 Jan 1876 bapt 11June 1876
faddernes: Syver Christiansen, Berthe Olsen, Mathea Olsen, Oline Olsen

Olson would be a common surname but it is possible that there is some family connection.

Possibly interesting folk from Green county:

There are a Sever and Matia Christiansen (she aged 35 born Norway) in the 1880 census of Green county, Wisconsin:
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=17&filnamn=ft21001880wisc&gardpostnr=36019&merk=36019#ovre

At findagrave in Green county, Wisconsin in Old York Lutheran cemetery there is an Ole Olson b. 19 Aug 1819 Norway d. 23 Mar 1893 and his (calculated0 wife Inger Olson 1811-1900.

Ole and Inger in the 1880 census, Moscow, Iowa county, Wisc.:
http://digitalarkivet.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=8&filnamn=ft21001880wisc&gardpostnr=37898&merk=37898#ovre

Here is a transcription of the Inger Olson from findagrave found in familysearch:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XLFG-D35

They are not the correct family.

Everyone, thank you so much for all the information so far. I have been to their graves in SD along with my Warfield family burial plot. Looks like I have a lot to filter through and translate to English. I do have the family history on Carl Murner back to the 1600's which will also need to be translated.

Please, would like to continue to receive any added Olson information especially Pre-immigration.
