Thanks for answering the question about where the listing of family members came from. Are they found as people who attended your grandmother's funeral?

Do you know when Gunhild Knutsdatter, Tellef's mother died?

A Johan M. Tellefsen from Oistad arrived on Hellig Olav on 24 Mar 1909 in New York. His closest relative in Norway is listed as Gunhild Knudson in Oistad and he is going to his brother Tellef Tellefson at 65 Woodhall(?) St in Brooklyn.

So that confirms Johan Tellefsen went to Brooklyn, and Tellef too.
Anna Tellefsdatter born 1888 died 1945 in Brooklyn - would be their sister (jcravi's mother's mother).

jcravi, do you know your Jorgensen side, and you know that Jennie/Tom/Goodie/Gil are not from that side? Ditto for Berta? Was "Berta Tellefsen" signed, or are you guessing Tellefsen? Do Norwegians use the word "Tante" for any aunt? or more specifically for father's sister?

RECAP of the Tellefsen clan:
Tellef Knudsen b. 1828
Marriage 1: Elise Rebekka Larsdatter Lerestveit (1836-1867)
Marriage 2: Gunhild Andersdatter Lindtveit (1847-)

Tellef Knudsen children from first marriage (per jcravi):
Inger Katrine Knudsen b. 1855
Laura Helene Knudsen b. 1858
Pauline Mathilde Tellefsdatter b. 1860
Jorgine Marie Knudsen b. 1863 d. 1868
Severina Olava Tellefsdatter b. 1865 - moved to Fjære 1880

Tellef Knudsen children from second marriage:
Knud Ludvig Tellefsen b 23 March 1870, confirmed 1884
Helene Oline Tellefsdatter b 07 April 1874, confirmed 1888
Tellef Gunerius Tellefsen b 05 May 1876, confirmed 1891 - living in Brooklyn, NY, USA 1909
Anders Anton Tellefsen b 23 March 1879, confirmed 1893
Johan Martin Tellefsen b 13 Oct 1881, confirmed 1896 - going to brother Tellef Tellefson in Brooklyn 1909
Anna Marie Tellefsdatter b 10 May 1888 - jcravi grandmother, to USA, married Ingvald Nilsen? next married Bjarne Jorgensen and lived in Brooklyn, New York

In your other topic on Rothaupt the obituary of Anne Jorgensen was found and her maiden name was given as Knudsen, her father's patronymic name. It may be possible this is your Tellef found in the Italian Genealogical Group website:

Knudsen Tellef 70 y Mar 20 1947 6232 Kings

His obituary didn't mention his survivors but did give his middle initial as "G." He was listed as buried in Green-wood but a search at the Green-wood Cemetery page did not find him.

Here he is in the 1940 census using Knudsen, with a Jenny in the house and a daughter Gudrun --which might be shortened to Goodie:

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/KQ1T-96N

Here they are in the 1930 census with him as Thom Knudsen:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/X4JS-BF3

Here they are in the 1920 census with the name carried as Thomas Kneidsen--one of the more bizarre renderings of Knudsen I've seen:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MJ5J-3JW

And the smoking gun, WWI draft registration for Thomas Knudsen a carpenter in Brooklyn gives his birthdate as 5 May 1876:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1971-26688-66296-52?cc=1968530

Thomas Knudsen marriage at the Italian Genealogical page to :
Last Name Given Name Month/Day Year CtfNum County Soundex ID
Olsen Jenny Nov 24 1909 10354 Kings O425 690718

There are 2 Gilbert Knudsen in the death index at the Italian site. Both died as preteens one aged 11 and the other aged 8.

Gudrun Knudsen was born 12 April 1913 1912 and baptized on 9 June 1913 1912 at Trinity Lutheran in Brooklyn, New York, recorded on page 31. Her faddernes were: Ole & Claire Olsen, Martin & Anna Knudsen

Thomas Kneidsen 42 born about 1878 Norway, to USA 1903, naturalized US citizen 1918, carpenter, dock builder

1930
Brooklyn, Kings, New York
Thom Knudsen 51 born about 1879 Norway
Jennie Knudsen 42 born about 1888 Norway
Gudrun Knudsen 17 born about 1913 New York

1940
New York, Kings, New York
Tellef Kundsen 63 b abt 1877 Norway, has 1st papers, dock builder
Jenny Kundsen 52 born about 1888 Norway

Since Anna Knudsen/Tellefsdatter Jorgensen died 1945, when the memorial book was signed, Gudrun could be married by then - to a Gil.

1905 New York state census
Brooklyn, Kings, New York
Thomas Knudsen, age 29 born about 1876 Norway
Andrew Knudsen, age 26 born about 1879 Norway
Martin Knudsen, age 23 born about 1882 Norway

You did it, you found him. I can't believe how the three brothers changed their names back and forth from Tellefsen to Knudsen and back to Tellefsen. They all changed their first names too somewhat, Anders became Andy, Johan Martin became Martin and Tellef became Tom. As for Gunhild Andersdatter, who married Tellef Knudsen, I can't find her date of death. I think she stayed on in Oyestad. I can't thank you all enough for all the time and effort you expended on my behalf. I truly appreciate it.

Hi jcravi, Here's the obit Jackie mentioned.

Brooklyn NY Daily Eagle 1947
"Funeral services for Tellef G. Knudsen, 70, a native of Norway who died Thursday at his home 6928 7th Ave., will be held at 7 p.m. tomorrow at the Halvorsen Chapel, 5310 8th Ave. The Rev. H. A. Okdale, pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, of which he was a member, will officiate. Burial Monday morning will be in Evergreen Cemetery."

Found it on the Old Fulton NY website. You might find more tidbits there as well.
http://fultonhistory.com/Fulton.html

From the list of cemeteries available on Find-a-Grave, it seems Evergreen Cemetery refers to
The Evergreens Cemetery
1629 Bushwick Avenue
Brooklyn, Kings County, New York USA 11207
Phone: 718-455-5300

Here is a link to The Evergreens Cemetery website. Among the people named Knudsen is Tellef Knudsen buried 1974-03-24. Be worth checking with the cemetery whether this is a typo for 1947.
http://www.theevergreenscemetery.com/records/

Others in the family could be buried here as well. There's an Andrew, John, and Knud Knudsen, an Anna Jorgensen buried 1945-06-12, an Andres Anton Tellefsen buried 1941-07-28, a handful of people named Gudrun, a Martin Olsen, and so on.

You are welcome! Tellef Knudsen died 20 March 1947 and was buried 24 March 1947, so the burial record for "Tellef Knudsen buried 1974-03-24" certainly seems like he could be the same man, with the 1947 accidentally transposed.
