Good morning
I am trying to find information on a Knute Steffenson. Born August 12, 1851 in Himle, Voss, Norway. His parents were Steffen Knuteson Sonve and Anna Tostendatter Sonve. I think the family immigrated in 1857 to Wisconsin. I may be more interested in Anna Tostendatter since that name actually shows up on my tree.

Any Clues would be helpful. Thank you.

Steffa/Steffen Knudsen was born on Sonve 1808 and married Anna Tostensdatter Herre 1832. Steffen takes over Sonve from his father 1830, sold most of Sonve 1852 to Knut Kjelsen and exchanged the rest of Sonve 1856 with Odd Larsen Vele where Knud lived in 2 years before he em. 1858. Children; Kari, Nils, Martha, Anders, Knut and Anna 1840-51.
For a period Steffen was schoolteacher in a valley at Voss called Bordalen.
Steffens father Knut Nilsen b. 1776 married 1799 Kari Davidsdatter Ringheim.
Knut Nilsen died on Himle 1830?

Thanks for all the quick replies. I have not been on this site for almost a year and now remember how to find some things. I was hoping that some of these people would have been from around Asnes, but no they are not.

This quest started because someone contacted my husband through Ancestry.com and from a DNA test they said they are 4-6th cousins (could be anyone, I know) but we were trying to figure out how they may be related. I don't think this line is going to link us.

Thanks again.
