Here is a candidate for Marie Brevig, Mari Larsdatter Brevig age ? about 11, coming to US in 1867:

http://www.norwayheritage.com/udvandret.asp?type=passengerlist&ps=46025&jo=610

Here is possible Mari leaving Sigdal in 1867 #39 aged 13:
Source information: Buskerud county, Sigdal, Parish register (official) nr. 9B (1860-1871), Migration records 1867, page 510.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=1132&idx_id=1132&uid=ny&idx_side=-130

She is also born 12 Sept 1854 so lots less likely:
Source information: Buskerud county, Sigdal, Parish register (official) nr. 8 (1850-1859), Birth and baptism records 1854, page 33.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=1130&idx_id=1130&uid=ny&idx_side=-42

On the gravestone, she is listed as "Marie J. Sivertson".
Birth: Mar. 28, 1858 (or Mar. 2, 1858)
Death: Jul. 8, 1894

I think the "J" either stands for middle name Johanna, or lastname Johannesdatter.

Regarding John Severson (Siverson) I have extensive experience in our family (Nesheim, Hansson, Siverson, and many others, over a 40 year period of research and thousands of family members in great detail, thousands of hours of research. Just upgrading my Family Tree Maker 95 (can you believe this) so I will have some catching up to do. Bob Siverson, I can help you when I get caught up. The Nesheim family from Ulvik/Granvin/Hordaland/Norway is my primary Norwegian family. I have very extensive history of the family. The emigrant father was Hans Snareson, who Ihave been looking for many years. Can not find him in Minnesota where he belongs, but may have gone back to Norway before he passed away at a ripe old age of 70-85 probably. I need your phone Bob. Mine is 636-493-1052. Take care, Jack
