Hi all, I came across this yesterday: A book "Norwegians in New York" by A.N. Rygg. It covers the period from 1825-1925 and has almost 300 pages of information about individuals! https://archive.org/details/norwegiansinnewy00rygg There are some inaccuracies in the stated facts, likely because a lot of the information was obtained word-of-mouth. Still, I found it very neat to see so many references to businesses, societies, organizations, events, etc. I'd recommend using not only the name index at the end of the book, but also the "find" feature in the PDF or text file. The ancestor I was looking for is listed twice in the index, but there are more mentions of him within the book. |
