Both Trygve and Bjarne are recorded with birth dates for Dissenters, see 2nd and 3rd records.

Trygve was born out of wedlock. Parents were married in Kristiania Aug 24 1887.

This private asylum, run by Andreas J. Nebbenæs and his wife took care of 16 male persons in 1900 suffering from old age and possibly other mental illnesses.

Here is a record of Casper's and Charlotte's marriage:
Source information: Akershus county, Skedsmo in Skedsmo, Parish register (official) nr. 13 (1883-1891), Dissenters´ marriage records 1886-1887, page 329.

The only really definate thing that could be said is that Casper was alive in 1900 and apparently not living in 1910. The record on his mother doesnot indicate that he is dead (which would most likely be indicated by leaving him out).

I've searched the dødsfallsprotokol from Aurskog (the parish the asylum was in) and did not find Casper Emil Casperson between 1901-1910. There were 2 Kasper Hansons in the mid 190ughts in their 40s but apparently not Casper Emil.

Correct. It is not uncommon for a family to tell youngsters a story they believe is somehow better, kinder perhaps. A common occurence would be likeliest explanation. But other explanations are possible - for example Caspar Emil mother was never informed of his death. Until his death record is found, one does not know.

BTW alcoholism can be one of the problems on the list of mental illnesses of that era, from what we read of US institutions. And delusions etc can be symptomatic of many physical ailments. Just saying the evidence is not in as to what was wrong.

Why does an Ancestry tree say he died at Farm, Saint Georges, Montserrat? Just found that but can't corroborate. I find it difficult to believe.

Except Casper Emil's mother is not the informant in her own death record. I think it says Otto Casperson in that spot or perhapsJenny Casperson. But obviously Casper's mother was caring for the boys in 1900 (they are listed as residents in her household, not Otto's) and depending on the father's situation he may have been away for an extended period. But the boys left in August and grandma died in November, so it appears there was something happening, probably to the old lady--health deteriorating, that required a different living arrangement for the boys, regardless of their father's situation.

What does gjendøken mean?

When Caspar married Charlotte 1887 he was a "Kjøpmand" Merchant in Lillestrøm.

When he was taken care of in 1900 on farm Nebbenes and asylum he was rec. as former Merchant in Skedsmo.

Trygve and Bjarne lived with the grandmother 1900 she ran a restaurant, most likely Caspars.

Nebbenes is located to Blaker

Probably the brother Bernhard / Bernard in 1900 census:

Bernhard has died apparently before the 1910 census, here is his family:
