Thanks Lori. I deleted message since you got it. Thanks for understandung the need for you to post more information here in this thread. Just a quick glance at this thread (and jwiborg link) suggests you might maybe be in a snarl. |

Huglen is a small village on the island Hugla in Nesna municipality. In the back ground is the island Tomma and the mountain to the left is the island Lovundlink

I see in my information from January Linmark Baade son, son ( Hans Petterson Baade 1794-1884) mother was Inger Povelsdatter birth 1758 of Bo. Supposely her father is Povel Rejerssen Olsøn death 1777. I can't confirm this in my research. I have also noticed through my research there were alot of cousins marry one another. Apparently my grand parents were cousins. I am in a snarl to say the least. I have many names, so I was throwing them on here. I apolozie for that. I was not raised with my father and did not know them well. I have this interest to know my heritage. I have one aunt still alive from Kaurin and Johanna Johnson (Baade). Which I am not in contact with much. She did give me some names. I supposely have many relatives that live in that area still of Bo Norway or that area. |

I googled the name Inger Povelsdatter born 1759 death 1788 and came up with Povel Torgersen 1728 as her father. Her husbands Petter Andreas Jansen Baade and Hans Kristian Normann Enoksen I believe this is the correct Povel... |

Okay, thanks for that, Lori, and now we know where we are. Just a quick aside - you know nobody is named January, right? You are just naming your other thread, probably.
It can help if you post a link to the other thread and also that family tree. Looking back, I see that you and the forum traced back to Inger Povelsdatter (1758-1838) together, from your grandfather back. Thus we can be assured that Inger Povelsdatter is a solid starting point, for continuing back in time.
Not all details about Inger were investigated, but according to the tree, she married Peter Andreas Baade (whom you mention) on 07 August 1788 at Boe kirke. Same source for her second marriage to Hans Kristian Normann Enoksen on 28 December 1818 same place, and she divorced him 1828. Apparently these records for Inger maybe don't tell her father, since the tree calls him just "Povel," no other info. But you should look, or someone should, at the originals of those records to see if that guess is correct.
If so, maybe it is tricky to ascertain her father. Sounds as if you found an online discussion of this. Would you please post a link to it? Who was talking? Maybe it's two junior high kids in Kansas making stuff up, or maybe some serious and skilled genealogists cleverly shed light on the problem. Don't know - so let the forum read what you read. My guess? I would guess you found a hot lead. |

Ingers father (Paavel/Povel) Torgersen was born at Titrum, see last record in left column. He was baptized Poul. His father was Torger Poulsen (not Torger Torgersen as in the tree found by Anton).

Returning to see the question of Inger's paternal ancestry has been resolved. Delightful! |
