I'm looking for the birth record for a Mari Olsdatter who married Jørgen Amundsen of Løvenstad in 1811. They moved to Longelstad and had four children: Petrine, Anne Marie, Oline, and Henrich. According to the bygbedok for Rælingen (the section on Longelstad) and her burial record, Mari Olsdatter was born in approximately 1775. Their marriage record lists her location as Nerdrum. However, when I check the bygdebok for Fet and the 1801 Norwegian census, I can't find a Mari Olsdatter born on Nerdrum around the right time. Furthermore, I can't find any 1774-1776 birth records for Mari Olsdatter in the Fet church books. Does anybody have any ideas for what I should try next, or possibly any leads?

Here is a link to their marriage record (third from the bottom on the right), and below is the bygdebok text.

"Jørgen Amundsen fra Løvenstad 1783-1864 overtok kort tid etter. Jørgen og kona Mari Olsd. 1775-1832 hadde barna: Petrine f. 1815, Anne g.m. Nils Amundsen Dølahaugen, Oline f. 1819, Henrik f. 1821 g.m. Kari Hasd., se Korsveien under Åmot."

Hi

Nerdrum doesn't have to be the farm she was born at, but rather the farm she lived at when they married.

I notice that one of the sponsors is Ols Tostensen Øvrebye. He has a daughter Maria born around 1774/1775.
1801 census:

She is confirmated 1789.

She was baptized 10 jan 1773 ((I think). Second from bottom right page:

That's perfect, thank you! I'm checking the Øvreby chapter in the Bygdehistorie for Fet now, and I expect that it'll verify your conclusion.

Unfortunately, the Bygdehistorie for Fet disagrees with your conclusion. Ole Tostensen Øvrebye and Mari Larsdatter had a daughter Mari in 1773 (who is on the baptismal record you found) who died later that year. Then, they had a daughter Maria in 1774 (who is on the confirmation and census records you found). Maria married Ole Olsen Nedre Bjanes in 1806 and Ole Hansen Meluken from Blaker in 1812. Also, if you check Jørgen and Mari's marriage record, Ole Tostensen appears as the sponsor of four different marriages just on that page. Not sure why, though.

One can only guess, but based on the 1801 census he must have been a nestor in the community - he was "bonde og gaardbeboer", 59 years of age and Øvrebye seems to have been one of the larger farms in Fet.
