What does the word Musgret or Musgreter mean - found sometimes before a male name and sometimes after.

Also, could you translate #100 Ane Marie Pedersd.'s RESIDENCE (col 6) and CAUSE of death, next page:

Cause of death, my guess, Brystsvaghed. Google translates as "Breast weakness", not sure what that might mean medically. There are quite a few with this cause of death on that page.

Were you able to read Ane Marie's residence in col 6?

I now believe Musgret/Musqvet is an abbreviation, as you say, for Musketeer. Here is one written out a bit and it looks more like the English word.

There were no fixed spelling in Norway at this time so it was up to the one who wrote how he spelled Musketeer.

I'm not able to read Ane Marie's residence. I think it ends with -veiten.
Here about veiter in Trondheim; only in Norwegian:

Perhaps they were soldiers.

A Musketer in Norwegian was ca before 1850 an infantrist or Dragon (Cavalryman), a rifle man.
The Musquett was replaced by rifles ca 1850.

Interesting about the Musketeer aspect. My only knowledge of Musketeers is A. Dumas' novel....French swashbucklers carrying swords! I never associated it AT ALL with carrying muskets nor with other countries. Fun to find this out!!

In the 1808-1809 war against Sweden Norway had 14 Musket Battalions, 4 divisions, consisting on ca 8400 soldiers.
