Hi,
I am looking for a relative that moved to the US in approx. 1920. His name was acctually the english like John Alexander Wilson, he was born Nov. 16th 1900 in Oslo and left behind 4 siblings and his father Josva P. Olsen. His mother Alvhilde Olsen(maiden name Wilson) died in 1916. I know that my great grandfather(Ralph Schlytter) came to visit him in the late 60's/early 70's and I have been told that he died at least after 1975. I have also been told that he moved to California, but this is very uncertain. He had a brother living on the east coast I think by the name of James Vaster.
I have not been able to find anything related to him on this page(on lists etc) nor have I found anything related to the life he had in the US. This has of course to do with his very common name....
If anybody in any way could help me with this, I would so appriciate it!?

But it gives his birthplace as New York ....?

Probably the same man as found by Jan Peter. Note he is marrying in CA very late in life.

I think that the New York that is referenced in the Death Notice posted by Jan Peter is the State in which John Wilson received his Social Security Card and not the place where he was born.

Thanks for you reply! I have seen this person before, but kind of blew him off, since he have stated beeing born in New york. Also I have not been able to find anything else on him!?

Hi,
I seen this before also, but yes this could indeed be him. Everything seems to be right with both name, age and birthplace. Maybe the John Wilson that died in 1973 was registrated as beeing born in New York, becouse they had lived there!?
