Has anyone heard of any other living Warenas? My husband and his daughter appear to be the only descendants of the Aasa and Torris Warenas family to still have the last name of Warenas. Thanks for any info.

Hi, There are discendents of a Guro Salamonsdtr. in Norway, she was b. July 29. 1835. A Torbjørn Salamonson b. December 13. 1844 also lived in Norway, need more time. Last time I saw Malena was in the 1885 census for Ida Co. Iowa, than she lived with her mother and stepfather. Magnar.

I believe Warenas in Norwegian is Varanes, a farm in Kvinnherad

It's many with last-name Varanes living in that area today.
