i think I have found the confirmation record for Karen Turine Andersdatter but I am not sure. I think it is #35. After her name there is a word I can't make out.
Could someone take a look at this record? If it isn't correct I didn't see any other records for the next few years that could be her.

Source information: Buskerud county, Sandsvær, Parish register copy nr. I 3 (1817-1839), Confirmation records 1821, page 468-469.

Thanks for looking at this.

Hi.
I read it as Aannestad.

Do you mean Anne Turine Andersdatter b. 1807 on farm Aajordet/Åjordet.
Parents; Anders Toresen and Berthe Marie Nilsdatter?

I think Karen is the one I meant per a response from you. I think the birth date that I found was 1807 if I am not mistaken. Perhaps I had the wrong birth church record. Please let me know if I have found the wrong birth record.

You are welcome.
Anders Toresen Kløvstad and Berte Marie Nilsdatter had 4 more children I want to share if you are intersted.
- Katrine Marie 1798 who married Paul Jacobsen Svinterud
- Tor 1801 who lived on Skinnes-eie, a sub farm under Skinnes 1822, later on farm Brønstad and died 1870 on Høydal.
- Sjul 1804 on Nedre (Lower) Dal
- Karen Turine 1808-65 married 1845 Timand Svendsen Komnes 1799-1861.

Sjul 1804, the name probably comes from farm Kløvstad where Sjul was used for generations and the Kløvstad family goes back to Sjul Kløvstad, owner of Kløvstad 1614.
I have not looked into any connection between Anders Toresen and Sjul Kløvstad, just a thought.

You have the correct Karen Turine, who married Timand Svendsen Komnes. Timand was the priests assistent in Komnes sub parish where Karen Turine was bapt.
Sjul is a typical Kløvstad name.
Give me some time and I will look for a connection

Perhaps the birth record I found is wrong. This is the record I found.

Source information: Buskerud county, Sandsvær, Parish register (official) nr. 2 (1725-1809), Birth and baptism records 1807, page 451.
Permanent pagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=8577&idx_id=8577&uid=ny&idx_side=-451
Permanent imagelink: http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:NBN:no-a1450-kb20070316650693.jpg

Can you take a look at it for me? Third record from bottom, right side page.

Anders Toresen Kløvstad 1761-1811.
Aders Toresens parents; Tore Sjulsen Kløvstad 1709-1782 and Anne Andersdatter Lande Nordre (Northern) 1719-1802, they married 1745.

Tore Sjuløsen Kløvstads parents; Sjul Torsen/Toresen Kløvstad ca 1678-1742 and Ingerid Olsdatter Strenge 1679-1736, they married 1703 in Efteløt Church.

Sjul Toresen Kløvstad, his parents; Tore Sjulsen Kløvstad ca 1642-1701, the priests assistent, and Maren Mortensdatter ca 1647-1701, origin unknown, they married 1674

Tore Sjulsen, his parents; Sjul (Jonsen?) Kløvstad, mentioned as owner of Kløvstad 1614, died before 1666. Sjul was probably married to Anne Timandsdatter ca 1585-1677. Anne Kløvstad was 1652 accused for beeing a "Trollkjerring" Witch by the Which Helle Jonsdatter

Jon Kløvstad who cultivated Kløvstad 1593 may have been be Sjuls father.

The birth record is correct, bapt. Jan. 25. 1807 Anders Tordsen/Toresen Aajordet D: (Daughter) Karen Turine.

Underlined means they were regarded as a sinificant family in Sandsvær.

So do I have the correct confirmation record for Karen Turine Andersdatter? The one born in 1807 and married Timand. If so what does the word Aannestad indicate? This has been confusing to me. Thank you for looking into this for me.

Now I remember I have been working with Timand and Karen Turine some time ago.
They got no children, Timand was a candidate to the Norwegian Parlamentiary election 1844 and both donated 4000 Spd, a large sum of Money as a legacy for poor people who did not want to be supported by the welfare agency in 1846..

Looking into it again I read her name as;
Karen Turine Anundsdatter Aannestad.

I am not sure anymore.

Hi

According to a bygdebok from Sandsvær, Timand owned Komnes church in 1844. This must have been the old stave-church, because the new Komnes church was built 1881 probably at the same place as the old churc - and near Timand's farm.
The place is very beatiful!
Komnes church as it looks like today:
