The text is a rewriting from Henrik Ibsen's novel "Brand".
In "Brand" it reads: Alf beneath the snow asleep Is my very Alf in heaven.
(Alf, som under Sneen sover, er min Alf hist ovenover!)

The text on the stone reads: Valborg beneath the tree asleep Is our very Valborg in heaven.
