JaneC - we found a death record for Soren's wife Anne Karoline in July 1928, but no mention of a death date for Soren
http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/kb/gr/person/pg00000001875036

Kåre - thanks for clarifying where Anne Karoline was from :)

Anders godparents, i recognise one being Lars Sørensen, he was his uncle (Iver Sørensen being his father) - the only other name that pops out there is that potentially Inger Johanne Eliasdatter couldve been an aunt ? Anne Karine Andersen and Jacob Andersen are new to me, perhaps they were potential relatives too :)

So Anna Karoline was called Nicoline?

A candidate Anders Iversen in Larvik - Langestrand og Fritzøe - in 1825:
http://da4.uib.no/cgi-win/webcens.exe?slag=visbase&sidenr=23&filnamn=f20707&gardpostnr=1358&merk=1358#ovre

Larvik being a collective name for three towns, as I understand it: Larvik, Langestrand, and Thorstrand. Fritzøe at Langestrand was an industrial center, at least after 1850, with a large ironworks.

Richard, you alluded to having found Anders with grandparents in 1825. Perhaps (probably) you're using the above record...

i suspect thats a transcription error, there seems to be a lot of lefthanded people in ancient Norway = messy writers we are :)

and yes thats correct, that's the 1825 of Anders with his grandparents :)

Anders parents:
Iver Sörensen (22 Dec 1798 - 10 May 1881)
Maren Anne Eliasen (31 Mar 1781 - 8 Jun 1824)
Maren was from Moss, Ostfold
after Maren died, Iver re-married in 1826 to Jakobine Christiansen (1798 - Aft 1865)

Anders grandparents
Soren Andersen (1768/1773 - 20 Aug 1846, Sandar)
Ellen Kirstine Andersen (bapt 20 Dec 1767, Stavern - Aft 1825)

- the reason for the various ages for Soren, one age on his marriage record and another for census (how someone ages extras i think comes down to the writing and transcribing (22 being recognised as 11 or 77 :) - but i can understand, my own handwriting is something of a shocker, so i type as much as possible :)

Thanks Richard. Yes, place of living/residence (bostad) is given at far right on the transcription of death record for Anna Karoline.

excellent - thanks for that clarification.

im excited as i just found the death for Iver Sörensen, i knew we had him on the 1865 census in Langestrand so figured id trawl through page by page - sure enough, i found him in 1881 :) - even if i do nothing else today, my day has been a success :)

excellent, so at least we know he was still alive in 1928 :) - the search continues, but with this added information it will make things easier to distinguish between Soren Andersen's out there :)

Soren did have descendants in Oslo - so that is probably where he went to.

Kåre - thank you for finding Anne Kirstine Andersen's marriage - i had feared that perhaps
she had gone and died young - so it's nice to know that she found love and married :)
- also lovely is that her father was remembered and not just any ragtag effort made to list him
that says a lot to me that does :)
