The above-mentioned girl was born in Vestre Slidre in Oppland April 24, 1848. Her parents were Barbro Gundersdaughter and John Pederson Tuff. The baby was baptized June 1 in 1848. Her confirmation took place at the same place June 18 in 1863. In the 1865-census she is registered as an unmarried girl who was 18 years old. December 12, 1873, she was married to a guy whose name was Lars Alfson Jarstad, who then was 32 1/2 years old. He was also born in Vestre Slidre in Oppland July 8 in 1841, and was confirmed May 24, 1857. In the 1865-census he was also un-married. May 8, 1874 the married couple and their two months old son Tollef left Christiania/Oslo for Faribault in Minnesota. So what I am wondering about, is what happened to them after they left Norway. Is it possible to find something for me?
Best of love, Anne

Tollef Jarstad is in Goodhue County, Minnesota with two US born siblings for the 1940 US census.
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KS24-NVB

Anne is buried in Goodhue County's Hegre Cemetery along with Lars and a number of children.

By the way, their original intended destination is actually in Rice County, Minnesota.

Building on that find, here's the Dalby Database list of burials for some in this Jarstad family in southeastern Minnesota:
http://www.dalbydata.com/user.php?action=cemsearchresults

Lars Jarstad 1841-1911
Anne Jarstad 1848-1928
Tollef Jarstad 17 March 1874 - 06 Feb 1957
Johan Jarstad 1878 - 1945
See more on the link.

Lars Jorstad is mentioned in a book on history of Kenyon (Kenyon, Goodhue, Minnesota). This little town is just down the road from St. Olaf College.

On Ancestry.com website, a busy descendant has posted lots of information and many photos. Included is a portrait of Anne and Lars, and Anne's obituary, and much more. Creator of that family tree is username is tamchu1

Anne Brit, if you subscribe to Ancestry.com, you can see all this plus contact that descendant.

I can't access that Ancestry tree, and need a little more research to verify, but I think this is a 2014 obituary for a grandson of Ingeborg b. 1880:
Link

Find-a-Grave memorial for
Ingeborg Jarstad (1880 - 17 July 1943)
married to Nils N Raabolle (1868 - 1909)
buried in Dennison, Goodhue, Minnesota and had a son Nels Johan Raabolle (1904 - 1964). All the forgoing is according to FAG.

Nice find. Poor Ingeborg, very hard for her.

A book called Norske Lutherske Menigheter i Amerika 1843-1916, volume 1 by Olaf Morgan Norlie, et al, is available online as an ebook. See page 467.

Tells a little history of the Hægre menighet. Presumably the Jarstads would have belonged to this church, as Lars and Anna are buried in the cemetery. The older Tollef Jarstad (b 1850) is mentioned and a Lars Tuve.

Another book available online, History of Goodhue County, mentions L.A. Jarstad and others in connection with the congregation.

Obituary for Joseph Jarstad mentioned surviving children, wife Helen (search "Jarstad" on Obituaries in the Dalby Database):
Link

Caroline Jarstad b about 1880 apparently did not marry (see FAG and Dalby Database). Death record gives mother's maiden name Tuve.

Thanks for thanks! Glad it's helping!

Here's another try at a child of Lars Jarstad and Anna J. Tuff (or Tuve). I haven't dotted the i's or crossed the t's. In 1900 census is daughter Anna L. Jarstad, age 13. A candidate is Anna Louise Jarstad Strandemo.

Find-a-Grave memorial here

Anna and husband Knute E Strandemo are included in the Dalby Database. Search the Cemeteries option. Search on "Strandemo." I notice the database says that Ingeborg Jarstad-Nils Raabolle had a daughter Anna who married a Strandemo.
Link

This is a well-done database that is local to southeast Minnesota.

According to Find-a-Grave, Anna Louise Jarstad Strandemo had a daughter Grace Amanda Strandemo (Luebke) (1909-1993). Obit here, for "Grace A. Luebke of Kenyon":

Find-a-Grave memorials are created by people who aren't necessarily descendants. Sometimes a descendant requests to take charge of the memorial and "maintain" it. That appears to be the case with the memorial for Anna Jarstad Strandemo. Click on the user name to message him.

For some reason, with just a simple Google search, the photos on the Ancestry.com family tree of tamchu1 come up. It's possible to see tiny thumbnail versions of the photos on the tree. Captions identify people, such as "Anna Tuve Jarstad" and many more photos (more than 800). Some are jpgs of documents. Although I'm not accessing the tree itself, I can see many Strandemo photos and there's no doubt whatsoever this is the Strandemo family on the Find-a-Grave memorial above.

So that's informal confirmation the guess about Anna Louise Jarstad Strandemo was correcta.

Again, tamchu1 is the Ancestry user name.
