Thank you. That would be over a year after the birth of his illegitimate son with Marthe Olsdatter Gjedrud, but that is entirely possible.

Question for you, The two sons of Christian Larsen and Annie Olsdatter are named Mathias and Ole. If Ole is the second son that fits as Annie must be the son of an Ole. However why the Mathias, why not Lars?

I think these four are your choices. They are all from Ringsaker and they include all of those found by Kåre as well as one additional one I found in Ancestry. I do not see why you would go outside of Ringsaker to Hof since Hof is not mentioned in any of the records you have posted. The problem for you is there is no easy one to chose among these candidates.

Looking over the data again, I wonder if the connection between all of the families is Lars Christiansen of Brottrum. He certainly had one son named Christian. He can be found in the 1865 with the family as Jackie posted much earlier and I will post again.

http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft/person/pf01038031011832

His baptims record is here. from 1836., see number 98.

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=9079&idx_id=9079&uid=ny&idx_side=-84

Perhaps before he had this son Christian in Hedmark, he had ventured up to Fåberg and fostered a son in 1835 with a woman not his wife. That would explain the occurance of the Bruget, Nordbruget, Borottum, and Nordhaugen popping up a lot.
Here again is his baptism record and 1865 Census as posted before by Jackie etc.

http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=9280&idx_id=9280&uid=ny&idx_side=-23

http://digitalarkivet.arkivverket.no/ft/person/pf01038031013770

I am sure that I am not the first person for whom that has occured but it is a tough one to prove. Lars Christiansen was married in October 1835 and the Christian Larsen of interest here was born in May 1835.

Of course, illegitimacy makes it tough, so you have to rely on the preponderance of evidence and circumstantial evidence, every little hint there is But in the confirmations there is only one who was either born on a Bruget farm or who resides on a Bruget farm about 15 years later.

Well, we don't know a thing about Christian Larsen's mother's movement, maybe she is the one who left Faaberg and went to Ringsaker and came [back to] Faaberg.
