It would be interesting to know where it says he claims to be from "Strand, Rogaland"? Could it just say "Strand", or even better "Tyristrand"?
It's also interesting that both this ancestry.com record and this geni.com record says his father Nels was from Modum, which is exactly the same area as Tyristrand, where we have found this Andreas Nilsen Holte. Would you know about these sources, and the reference to Modum? |

Ole and Andrine had several children in Menomonie. Andrine is listed with the last name Thorsen in these birth records.

This could be the marriage of Andrew Holte. It says Dunn, Iowa but that is probably a mistake and they mean Dunn County Wisconsin. ie where Menomonie is located. Also the parents match very well to those listed by Jan Peter from the 1865 Census page one. The birth place of the two are listed, however I cannot make out the birth place for the groom but for the bride it is listed as Modum.

Great find Anton! it sure is them, and confirm that we have found the right guy. His parents match, and his wife was Karine Bertha Borgen.
His birthdate varies within a few days:
The christening record says his birthdate is 19 Jan 1855, see #26.
The confirmation record says his birthdate is 16 Jan 1855, see #16, right page.
The ancestry.com record says his birthdate is 15 Jan 1855. What is the source?

Probably Amund Madsen living at Borgen in 1801 Census. Not married yet. Father is not in census. Mother is probably Anne Christensdater.
