Hello my fellow genealogists! I was able to find some great information on my ancestors and where exactly they came from in Norway (and found out I am Swedish!). Can someone help me clarify some of the information I found. (at the site below)

http://gamlegjerpen.no/Emigranter/1849-168.html

In his heading, it is showing his name as Lars Peter Caspersen Aashammer.

Is Aashammer the farm or street he lived on in Gjerpen? Or his occupation in Norwegian?

And when it says he was living on Holmen under Sondre Aas.. Is Sondre Aas the street he lived on?

Thank you so much for your help! :) I copied and pasted the information from the website and it is below:

Lars Peter Caspersen was born probably in Sweden around 1819. His father Peter Casper Gäfvert is born in Svanskog, Sweden in 1786. He was married to Lene Andersdatter, and they came to Gjerpen some time before 1835, as they are found living on Holmen under Sĝndre Aas in 1835. Peter Casper was then hammersmith and probably worked on Fossum Ironworks or at the Aashammer Ironhammer. They had the following children in 1835: 1) Britha Caisa, age 23, Johannes, age 18 and Lars Peter, age 16.

Lars Peter is married Oct 14, 1842 to Marthe Gundersdatter, b. Helgen parish, living at Sem in Gjerpen, age 22. Her father was Gunder Larsen Semb, b. ca 1780 and mother Inger Thomasdatter Vibeto, b. ca 1785. Her siblings were: Hans, born 1815, Thomas, born 1821, Anders, born 1827 and Gunder, born 1829.
Marthe Gundersdatter’s paternal grandparents were Lars Gundersen Huvet u.Vipeto and Karen Hansdatter in Holla parish. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Andersen Vipeto and Anne Svennungsdatter Fen from Holla parish.

Thank you!

You are welcome.
It's almost midnight in Norway, perhaps some from the other side of the Atlantic in this forum can help you.

A little more
link

You may have this, but for the record here is the 1835 census in Gjerpen that was mentioned - residence Aas Sĝndre Holmen, plads: link

Sĝndre means south.

In the 1835 census, Peter Casper Gäfvert is an ektemann (husband). His occupation (work) is Huusmand, Hammersmed. A huusmann is a cottager/tenant farmer. A smed is a smith or blacksmith, consistent with the above posts.

According to this poster, the family came to Gjerpen, Telemark from Langserud Pr. in Sweden in 1834 as noted in the migration records of the parish (which you can check):
