Savannah you need to supply more information about your ancestor to confirm that Anton's leap of faith is jumping the right way. Basic facts such as birthdate and deathdate and location of US settlement.

Otherwise, if Anton is correct, Folk og Fortid I Hol Volume VI has the first set of ancestors of a Syver Sanderson (or the local variation of the name Sjugard Sandersen). The Folk og Fortid books are available in several places as resources or rentals.

Hi, it seems unlikely Sander Syverson b 1816 at Bakkegaard farm in Hol, Buskerud is the father of your Syver Syverson because Sander's son went by "Syver Sanderson" when he was an adult. He married Caroline Estenson, see link: 1910 census

Tell the forum about your Syver Syverson if you'd like help finding his parents.

"My name is douglas carl faucher, i am the son of bonnie rae syverson and francis james faucher...my maternal grandparents are elaf dewayne syverson and barbara lou cummings, my great grandfather is simon syverson and his father is syver syverson... my grandpa elaf was born in bruno north dakota around 1903 he died in Raineer, Washington in i believe it was 1992 at 79 or 80 yrs old.  his mothers name was minnie mohn. Simon Syverson's death date is included in the Ellef R Mohn story as occurring in 1962. Here is the only Simon Syverson death during the whole 1960-1969 decade found in the ND Public Death Index online:
SYVERSON, SIMON 06/05/1962 Stutsman MALE 69 Years 2/19/1892 North Dakota Stutsman

The birthdate is the same as the WWI draft registration card and the same birthdate of the transcribed confirmation record of Simon Syverson. In the 1900 census Simon Syverson, son of Iver and Louise Syverson is listed as born in Dec 1892 in North Dakota.

If all goes well this is a short note about Minne Mohn marrying Simon Syverson, includes a list of their children:
http://digitalhorizonsonline.org/cdm/fullbrowser/collection/ndsl-books/id/40574/rv/compoundobject/cpd/40686/rec/56

Sorry doesn't link to the exact page. You should be able to manually search for page 75 at the link, however. The full story is about Ellef Mohn (apparently Ellef Duane Syverson's grandfather and namesake) who came from Tyldalen, Norway. Ellef was Minnie Mohn's father. The Sherbak connection is apparently on Minnie's side as well. Her mother's father was named Olaf Skjerbeck.

Here is Minnie Mohn with her family in 1900 census:

I assume this is Ellef Duane's brother Donald at FAG:
