...was born in Beitstad in North Trøndelag September 22, 1855. Her parents were Lorents Anderson and Johanne Margrete Estensdaughter. Her confirmation took place in 1870 at the same place, and she was a part in the "countings" in 1865 and 1875 - as Evinda. It is also said in a book for the area that she has emigrated to the USA, but it has not been possible to find her here. Can you help me with that? Is it possible that Louise is the name that is used at her registration in the emigration?

There is a Private Family Tree on Ancestry.com for this person

Edvinda Louise Welden Loresson born 1855.

A Private Tree means that there is no information available without contacting the owner of the tree. .

Searching further under some information I could dig out from the listing in the Private Family Tree I think this is the person from the Family Tree. Some of the information matches your person but not all of it.

I wonder if the Welden comes form the farm name Veldekløven from the 1865 Census.

How fantastic - and also thank you for the photo!! The answer above the photo is absolutely fine. What I have read in the same book as I mentioned when I started writing, is that she had a half-Brother named Anton, and they had the same father. This mentioned guy was born in North-Trøndelag in 1844, and he, too, has went to the US. I don't know anything more about him. Is it possible to find him?

You might want to write to the source of the picture, she might know about Anton. Inga-Lil Henrickson is a great grandchild to Evinda. E-mail address in the link above the picture.

Based on the this baptism record it may be that Lorents Andersen was married twice and his first wife was named Ovida Andreasdatter. This looks like the Anton from the 1900 US Census. In this record he is listed as a twin. Birth date is 21 Oct 1841.

#9

First wife Ovida died in 1847

#23

Looks like Lorents married in 1849 to Johanne Estendsdatter

#3

Anton married Sophia before the family left Norway. First son was born in Nordland.

#35

Anton married Sophie Marie Larsdatter in Nordland.

#3

Sophia and family in the 1865 Norwegian Census.

1865

Anton and Sofie and family in 1875 Census

1875

Family emigrated under the name Welde in 1889

Link

Arrived under the name Anton Wilde

Thank you! Your help is always wonderfully fantastic! And it's quite correct that Lorents Andersen married his second wife in 1849! The book I have mentioned tells that he was born in 1844.......
I'll look to see if I find him in 1849 - because the authour might naturally have made errors - there are other errors in this text, too - but not many.
