A little more information about him would be welcome. Are we to assume he was born in Norway in 1882/1883 time frame?

There is more than one Halvor Olson living in Wisconsin during the 1900's.

Where did he live, have you found him in a census record, who was he married to etc. ?

Here is the info from your other query

"I am looking for any info on my Great Grandfather Halvor Olson. I know he settled in Shawano County, Wisconsin and was married to Marie Olson. Any help is really appreciated! Gry"

Is this him

I notice in this baptism record that one of the witnesses is named Syvet Olson any relation to Halvor?

This marriage seems to fit this couple as well. If so there are names for parents.

Here is what I found out:
There were two Halvor's in Green Valley, Wisconsin. However, one last name was spelled Olsen and the other Olson,--I believe this one (Olson) is my great grandfather.
He was married to Marie, often referred to as Mary. They had 8 children, one of which was Oscar who was my grandfather. Halvor was born in Norway about 1864. He immigrated to the United States in 1882/1883. He did live in Green Valley, Shawano County, Wisconsin. I got this info off the 1910 census. He was a farmer.
I would really like to know, if possible, where he lived in Norway. Also, the name of the ship he came over in and where he entered the U.S.
I have scoured all kinds of death records but haven't found anything about him.

I truly appreciate all your help! Gary

A distinction based on the use of e vs o in the spelling of Olson is unlikely to hold the key here.

The Halvor in the 1900 census of Shawano's name is transcribed as Olsen, yet he was born April 1864 and migrated in 1882 (a peak year of migration) and has a son Oscar and a wife named Marie.

The 1910 Halvor answers most of the same description: b about 1864 came to US 1883, married to Marie and has a son named Oscar but the name is transcribed as Olson. The wife Marie has born 12 children and has 12 children alive, the last 4 were born after the 1900 census:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9YB9-9RY5?i=14&cc=1727033

Here is a possible Halvor Olsen, would need exploration:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:NHN6-2NL

Your Halvor is probably in FAG:
https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=135117747

One of the younger children, Esther, is listed as born in Oconto county, Wisconsin:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XRVP-V5L

You might want to find the obituary for Halvor in 1943. Here is a listing of newspapers from Shawano county:

Here is the ELCA record for the baptism of your grandfather Oscar. Two of the witnesses on the original document are named Olson. First is the Sivert Olson and later is Mrs Lisbeth Olson. Again I would ask would Sivert (also spelled Syvert earlier) perhaps be a relative of your Halvor? Also listed as witnesses are a Alet Gulbrandsen and Gerthe Gulbrandsen.

Oscar Olson
in the U.S., Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, Records, 1826-1940
Name: Oscar Olson
Event Type: Baptism
Birth Date: 12 Mar 1896
Baptism Date: 27 May 1896
Baptism Place: Green Valley, Wisconsin, USA
Father: Halvor Olson
Mother: Marie Olson
Church Name: Green Valley
Church Location: Green Valley, Wisconsin

If you go back and exam the 1900 Census for Halvor Olsen you will find a Lisbeth and Niels Olsen listed next to the Halvor Olsen family and near the top of the page a Ale T Gilbertsen and Gertie Gilbertsen who I suspect are both the witnesses for the baptism of your Oscar and likely related to the wife of Halvor Marie (Mary) Gilbertsen or in Norway Gulbrandsen.

Niels and Lisbeth were already in Green Valley Shawano by the 1880 US Census so perhaps the reason for Halvor ending up there.

1880

The 2nd marriage would explain why in the 1930 census Halvor is listed as "divorced" rather than "widowed":

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X9ST-11Z

In 1920 Halvor is listed as "married" and there's no wife apparent in the household:

The story of the Gilbertsen (Gulbrandsen) family that one finds closely attached to the family of Halvor Olsen shows them to extend back to Nes parish Akershus county Norway. Probably a good place to look for the origins of Halvor Olson.

The Find-A-Grave links for this family tell the story of the arrival of the patriarch Anton Gilbertsen (Gulbandsen in Norway) his marriage in Norway, travel to Wisconsin and history of the various family members.

Sigvart or Syvert Olson was faddernes to at least 4 of Halvor's children. There seems to be no Sigvart or Syvert Olson in Shawano county, but there is one in Gillett, Oconto county, Wisconsin which was the place for one of Halvor's children to be born:

Thank you everyone for all your help!

Is there any way I can find out where Halvor Olson entered the United States? Or the name of the ship he rode to come to America?

Possibly Halvor's and Sigvart's mother leaving:
https://digitalarkivet.no/en/view/8/pe00000000975696

Thea Hanson was faddernes to at least 3 of Halvor's children, at least once by herself and at least 2 times with her husband Peter Hanson. An Oline Olson lives with her in the 1900 census. Peder, Thea and Oline live next door to Halvor in the 1900 census.

Sister Charlotte also leaving same day as Oline and Halvor all going to Oconto:
https://digitalarkivet.no/en/view/8/pe00000000975690

She's Charlotte Olson in the birth record transcription of Zelma Esson:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XRVL-SV7

Possibly sister Charlotte m Fred Essen in 1900 census:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HT-6313-5DL?i=12&cc=1325221

Charlotte Olson married in 1886 in Oconto:
