Thank you Vivi for the correction. The number for 15 March 1834 is even smaller.

Not a lot to recommend this fellow regards matches to Andrew Rodrom. #7 Anders b 11 Feb 1836 parents named Gabriel Andersen and Karen Margrethe Kristoffersdatter living on Rødnæset in Aafjord:

Wow thank you all for your input This will take a while to search through. As to area he may have lived in Trondheim. A Recent sizeable DNA match to my mother 1% ( Andrews granddaughter Ettie who has over 50% Norwegian origins ) and to several other family members revealed Norwegian origins in nth Trøndelag around lierne close to Swedish border We also think andrew was in Australia in 1865 and 1867 A’s we tracked the boat Bastiaan Pot voyages although it was in Australia 1864 on maiden voyage but we have no proof yet. So if any of the above men are still in Norway in 1880’s That would discount them. he was in early 30 s when he came to Australia and married Martha venables in 1876 when 42 yrs old Hope this helps. Thanks again

Taking a more general approach, at the digitalarkivet looking for any Gabriels* born between 1824 and 1844, selecting for Trondelag in Geography, finds 487 references, the thinking being that these might be siblings of your Andrew, giving clues which parish register to look into..

I saw some of this family in the baptism registers of Aafjord. At the time I didn't find an Andreas for them in the correct date but the parents' names are interesting, Gabriel and Marianne. Here in 1865 on Rømmen in Aafjord:

His son Baker Gabriel Andersen b. 1864 in Rotnæs in Aafjord married Johanna Hansdatter Fyhn in Bakklandet sub parish, Trondhjem Oct. 17. 1886.
His father is rec. as Anders Gabrielsen Rotnæs, Farmer, see #45

We have correct name : Anders Gabrielsen, we have a connection to Trondhjem and first syllable in Rotnæs is not far from Rodrom in pronunciation. This Anders Gabrielsen's birthday is not correct acc to the Australian record..

We has to find more info on Anders Gabrielsen

One other point to Kåre's post. In the 1865 Census Anders Gabrielsen is listed as a Gaardbruger Selveier, which translates into farmer owner, freeholder. A little hard for me to buy into a farmer owner with wife and at least two children running off on a ship to Australia.
