An interesting sidenote. The Swedes seem to favor multiple first names. From the data base on Ancestry.com "All Sweden, Select Baptisms, 1611-1920" there are seven men with the first name containing Mag* born 1848 plus/minus 1. Father named Pet* Mag*

I've noticed that notifications from this forum might end up in the spam folder, so that could explain why you haven't noticied any response-notifications... |

This brings me to an additional question. Again, thank you all for the amazing responses. I was able to poke around the parish book and see the items you all posted, as well as a few others. I've been using www.digitalarkivet.no which has given me some info...but I'm wondering, when you open the parish book, is there a way to search within the parish book? Using the search screen doesn't seem to yield as much info. Is this because the book may be scanned, but not searchable? It could be user error as I'm not an expert. Short of going through the parish book page by page, Is there another way to actually search? For instance Kaarto was able to find his death entry in the Parrish book. That is a piece of info I had not yet been able to find and I have searched Magnus info off and on for two years now. Is there a trick? A secret handshake? I will happily return the favor and promise to keep a closer eye on this. |
