Ole Meikleson arrived New York on 21 Jul 1869. Steamer Scandinavia left Christiania (Oslo) on July 6th, headed for Leith (Edinburgh), Scotland. Changed ship there.

Intersting, there were three Ole Mikkelsn's who left Oslo in 1869. Two of them landed in Quebec in June of 1869 and one landed in New York.

Ole Mikkelsen Ursven, Ole Mikkelsen Hagnhvel and Ole Mikkelsen Skilset.

Yes it looks like a common name, however it is probably Ole Mikkelsen Skilset.
I wasn't aware he was married but his parents lived on the Skjelset farm in Furnęs Parish. I assume the Skilset is a misspelling of Skjelset. His Parents were
Mikkel Andersen 1811-1898 and Else Anderdatter 1807-1869. He was my
Grandmother's half brother who came to the United States our family didn't know
much about him. Thank you for the help.

Likely his death record

Ole Mikkelsen
in the U.S., Find A Grave Index, 1600s-Current
Name: Ole Mikkelsen
Birth Date: 12 Mar 1838
Death Date: 21 Dec 1879
Cemetery: North Immanuel Cemetery
Burial or Cremation Place: Norwegian Grove, Otter Tail County, Minnesota, United States of America
Has Bio?: N

His birth date was actually March 9, 1838, so if that is his death record above, the birth date is off by a few days.

Thanks Anton we had pretty much thought that was his burial. All other family lived in that area except for one branch that moved to Canada in 1907, I belong to that branch. This site is marvelous, thanks to all for searching.
