This looks like the parents of Halvor P Hammer in the 1885 Census living in Scott County. Along with father Peter Christiansen is his wife Ellen, son Herman age 24, daughter Carrie age 14 and son Gilbert age 11.

Gilbert Christianson
in the Minnesota, Territorial and State Censuses, 1849-1905
Name: Gilbert Christianson
Age: 11
Census Date: 1 May 1885
County: Scott
Locality: New Market
Birth Location: Norway
Gender: Male
Estimated birth year: abt 1874
Race: White
Line: 15
Roll: MNSC_41

One of his sons and Halvor P Hammer's brother Anton O Hammer was living in Eureka, Dakota County in the same census.

Name: Anton O Hammer
Age: 29
Census Date: 1 May 1885
County: Dakota
Locality: Eureka
Birth Location: Norway
Gender: Male
Estimated birth year: abt 1856
Race: White

From Jan Peter

quote:
There is a Mari Pederson (44) keeping house for some Haldorsons in Eureka, Dakota, MN, census-1880. A wild shot, but possibly related to Halvor P. Hammer

Maybe not such a long shot. This record would indicate that Anton and thus Halvor's mother is Helene Halvorsdatter.

What about this person? Karen Andreasdatter (b. 1859) born in Christiania. Is it possible to find DOB and if this person emigrated in 1874?

I think Jan Peter found the mother in the 1880 Census. Mari Pedersdatter mother of Karen Andreassen married Andreas Olsen in 1858

Mari Pedersdr
in the Norway, Select Marriages, 1660-1926
Name: Mari Pedersdr
[Mari Mikkelsen]
Gender: Female
Age: 22
Birth Date: 1836
Marriage Date: 12 jan 1858
Marriage Place: Hurdal, Akershus, Norway
Father: Peder Mikkelsen
Spouse: Andreas Olsen
FHL Film Number: 278162
Reference ID: 2:XVFVP9

Her father is listed as Peder Mikkelsen.

In 1884 Mari P Mikkelsen married Halvor Halvorsen in Dakota County.

Name: Mari P Morstad
[Mari P Mitkkelsen]
Gender: Female
Record Type: Marriage
Marriage Date: 11 Jul 1884
Marriage Place: Dakota, Minnesota, USA
Father: Peder Mitkkelsen
Spouse: Halvor Haldorsen
Church Name: Christiania Lutheran Church
Church Location: Lakeville, Minnesota

Likely the Mari Peteson from the 1880 Census married the head of the household she was living, working in. Witnesses at the marriage were Ammon? Haldorsen and Ole Haldorsen.

Can someone find the family in the 1865 Norway Census? If the parents are Andreas and Mari, then Karen had a sister, Hilda Amalie (b. 1860). Mari is a widow in 1874 when the left Norway and I think Andreas may have died in 12 April 1861, line 12:
