Do you got a source, so I can save it? If not potential a Day and Month for the Residency of 1927 and 1928? 1929?quote: Originally posted by jkmarler
Peter E Simon was a resident of Minneapolis in 1927 at 2545 Portland Ave. He also lived at that same address in 1928. In 1929 Peter E Simon was listed as a resident of the Ebenezer home.

I think this is a significant find, as far as I can see it is the first hard evidence that these Ringsaker people actually emigrated. I may have overlooked something, but it seems to be that otherwise we have just noticed similarities in names etc. between one group of people in Ringsaker and one in MN/SD.
Something else that would be good, would be date of birth for some of the people in the US. Is there one for Agnete? At FAG there is no picture of her tombstone, but somebody has registered 20 Nov 1820 as her date of birth. Would this be from the tombstone, or could it be a product of somebody's googling? There is in fact a picture at this other site that I link to below, but I find it hard to read:

The picture is not really good enough quaility to see if there are any dates actually carved on the stone. You can email the poster and see what she says re the source. It could be as you say the result of somebody's research... |

I enlisted some expert help, and can now confirm that the children Martin, Hans, Anton, Mathea and Christian born on Ringsaker in Norway all had the same mother. The evidence can be found in the klokkerbok (Sacristan book ? ), where Agnete's earlier extramarital births (No. 173 1856, No. 73 1846 and No. 112 1844) are listed in the margin at Christian's baptism.

With this, I feel the identity between the Norwegian children and American adults is well established. |

Here is a candidate for the baptism of Agnete Hansdatter born 1820. 1865 Census lists her as being born 1820 in Ringsaker. Also in that same listing is a Marie Hansdatter born 1823 Ringsaker. I would think the chances are good that Marie is a sister of Agnete.
Here are Agnete and Marie in the 1865 Census again.
1865
Here is the best candidate from Ringsaker born in 1820.
Agnete Hansdatter in the Norway, Select Baptisms, 1634-1927 Name: Agnete Hansdatter Gender: Female Birth Date: 29 nov 1820 Baptism Date: 17 des 1820 (17 Dec 1820) Baptism Place: Ringsaker, Hedmark, Norway Father: Hans Thomasen Mother: Marte Pedersdr FHL Film Number: 124361 Reference ID: 2:JH9X57
#472
And here is her sister Marie born in 1823 in Ringsaker with the same parents.
Maria Hansdatter in the Norway, Select Baptisms, 1634-1927 Name: Maria Hansdatter Gender: Female Birth Date: 2 okt 1823 (2 Oct 1823) Baptism Date: 5 okt 1823 (5 Oct 1823) Baptism Place: Ringsaker, Hedmark, Norway Father: Hans Thomasen Mother: Marte Pedersdr FHL Film Number: 124361 Reference ID: 2:JHBSKT
#852
Marie Hansdatter married Johannes Syvertsen Jan 4, 1849.

I agree. Familysearch has a baptism of Marie in 1823 with parents matching Agnethe's. Since Agnethe would likely stay with a relative, this all strengthens your candidate. (Written before you listed Maria above.) |

Minneapolis City Directories are also available through Ancestry.com
I am not a subscriber but was able to see them earlier today when I visited a nearby LDS Family History Center. The same databases are available at many public libraries. |

Divorced. (Fraskilt.)
And the census record must be the right one; Herset is the address given for the father at the twin baptisms. |
