Methusaleh was hard core frontin.

Hopkins, I've never heard of that book but will check it out, thanks. I agree sometimes death certificates are inaccurate but when they are this specific I tend to err on the side of the person knowing them very well and likely having all the family records to support it. If it's their kids I would certainly err on the side that they met and knew their grandparents before they left Norway. However as for GPS, yeah you shouldn't simply trust but verify - you should question, err and verify. ;) I am working to understand the second link you sent though - the confirmation. It says Peder and Ane of Myren in ??. I don't think it says Sogn but can't think whatelse that might be? You siad their full names were there but I'm not seeing it. Of course I'm still a far way off reading a lot of the things written in these documents.

Thanks for all the help everyone!

Are you sure you are looking at the CONFIRMATION record as was given to you? The parents patronymic names are right there.

You and I just plain disagree about the trustworthiness of death certificates. So be it. Good luck and happy hunting.

Ah no I was looking at the birth record I see. I can make it out there. In the case of a record at the time of birth vs one at death, no I'd take the birth with greater reliability any day. I hope you didn't take any offense to how I said that. I do appreciate the help everyone offers and wasn't trying to be combative. Thanks for pointing this out.

The referenced is an abbreviation of " Myren i Saxdal"

I would think that this is a good candidate for the baptism record for Anne Christiansdatter wife of Peder Olsen Myhre. Father is Christian and mother is Rønnoug. Father's residence is Myren i Saxd.. ie Myren i Saxdal.

Link

Original record is first record past 2. Pentecoste

Link

Here is a Christen Larsen and Rønnoug Hansdatter in the 1801 Census. This is before Anne was born but they do have one son named Lars. Also the parents of Christen are living with them on Myhren. They are Lars Christensen and Sigrid Olsdatter

1801
