Looking for burial place in Norway for Birgitte, her husband, and their 2 sons J.W. and Bernt Klüver. Birgitte was back and forth between Norway and USA. But I believe she died in Norway in August 1935.
Birgitte's father was Rev. Bernt Julius Muus, founder of St. Olaf College. Thanks much, Kay

The OCR read of newspaper Aftenposten dated 22 Aug 1935 lists her burial at 14 hours (2 pm) in Var Frelsers gravlund. |

This page contains some data on the children of Birgitte Muus and Lorentz Klüver: http://www.kluwer.no/ldk/REFSAAS.61G1.html
The Johan Wilhelm Klüver born in 1890 lived to a ripe age and was buried in Steinkjer in 1986, in a family grave with his father and several others:

This doesn't quite work -- the search I made isn't preservef in the link, but just search for first name Johan Wilhelm and last name Klüver at the given site. (The umlaut is necessary to get the right match.) |

I looked at the original. Vår frelsers gravlund refers to the next burial. Birgitte Klüver was buried at Vestre gravlund. |

Thanks for great replies. Iron Marker in Snaasa cemetery - Google translate comes out rather strange -
Thanks much for help in translation |

Iron plate: 28 coffins from the Muus grave-chapel put down here August 1894
To the one who sees: The tomb that you see here built of stone hides the bones of the Muuses. They are consecrated to God. Do not violate the bones consecrated to God. I want the grave to rest. Go away and remember that you too shall die.

Olga Petrine Muus born Pedersdatter Nordvoll on the island Dønna in Nordland County 1910 married to Leiv Olav Muus, son of farmer Peter Olav Muus, was my grandfather Aksel Nordvoll's sister. They left no children link
They recieved a large silverware cutlery as a wedding presant from family in USA when they married |

Thanks to ToreL for interesting translation. Makes more sense than Google - but still seems like a strange message to me.
Kåarto - Will have to check my Muus family tree - but there is probably a connection to Leiv as so many Muuses in Snaasa. They are related to my son-in-law and my grandchildren. |

A little background on the inscriptions at Snåsa church. There is an annex to the church sacristy, built in 1703 as a grave chapel for the Muus family. A small marble plate on the outside wall, written in Greek and Latin, conveys the "strange message." The page I linked to above shows both part of the marble plate (early 1700s) as well as the iron plate (late 1800s). The text on the website implies that the chapel now holds fewer coffins than it did originally, and my guess is that 28 coffins were taken from the chapel and buried in the church yard in 1894, in a common grave marked by the iron plate. |

The cutlery was in two beautiful brown wooden boxes. I have one of them in my cottage, my mother got it from aunt Olga

Very interesting to make a Muus connection. Lorentz Kvaal (a Muus descendant) reported in 1992 that there were 3 persons named Muus in Snaasa - Peter age 60, Kirsten widow age 75, and Olga age 70 (your Olga?). So now probably nobody named Muus left in Snaasa. |

My Olga. There is a Rigmor Muus Leistrand living in Snåsa today, and a family member to Leiv as I understand it inherited the farm when Olga died. |
