I am looking for death and burial records of infant Julie youngest child of Mikkel
Andersen and Johanne Johnsdatter. The family left Norway Aug.1876 she is in
the link below

Family arrives New York Aug. 26,1876 where she is listed as arriving

Some family history says she died at sea but I find no record of her after Aug. 26,1876. Another daughter Julia replaced her about 1878. The family lived around the Fergus Falls Mn. and Pelican Rapids MN. areas. Any help is greatly appreciated.

So the second was born in Minnesota? And then baptized in Minnesota.

Juli Anna Anderson
in the U.S., Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Church Records, 1781-1969
Name: Juli Anna Anderson
Baptism Age: 0
Record Type: Baptism
Birth Date: Feb 1878
Baptism Date: 31 Mar 1878
Baptism Place: Ottertail, Minnesota, USA
Father: Mikkel Anderson
Mother: Johanna J Anderson
Church Name: Grove Lake Lutheran
Church Location: Pelican Rapids, Minnesota

Date here looks like Feb 2 1878

And then also died rather young? The original on the record below states that she was born in Norway? Is that incorrect?

Julia Mikkilson

Name: Julia Mikkilson
Record Type: Burial
Birth Place: Norge
Death Date: 9 Jul 1895

Thanks Anton the girl named Julia was born in the U.S. There seems to be a lot of misinformation on the FAG for Mikkel Andersen 1811-1898. Is there any proof that the infant Julie died buried at sea. Ship records seem to indicate she arrived in New York. Mikkel's oldest daughterElise (Elysa) was my grandmother, she lived with us until her passing in 1959, I was in my mid teens she spoke often of her sisters but I never heard her say anything about Julie dying at sea

The ELCA records for

U.S., Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Church Records, 1781-1969
Congregational Records Minnesota Pelican Rapids Grove Lake Lutheran

are a little messy but I will see if I can find a section for burials around 1877 to 1880 or so.

Unfortunately the burial records seem to start in 1883.

I did not find either Julia in the confirmation records that start in 1885. Records between 1887 and 1894 are missing

Thank you for trying to locate her in the Grove Lake church records, it is probably where she is buried as most of her family ended up there. I checked out the info on Global FAG Burials at Sea and find there are no sources attached not even the name of the ship. The second girl Julia did die at a fairly young age.

I am curious as to the ship Passenger or Manifest List. On the first page for the ship Britanniac that arrived New York Aug. 26,1876 it says it is an accurate record of passengers arriving age etc. and also a list of any passengers who died at sea.

There is also a column for any who died at sea. Julie seems to have arrived alive with her family. Has anyone found this type of record to be not accurate
