Exceedingly long shot. In 1900census in Alaska there is a Rasmus Johnson whose last address in the lower 48 was at San Francisco in April 1900. Johnson and Thomsen could sound similar....

I think Forsand is a dead end... it seems Olga is only mentioned because of her lastname...? I think we need to see the complete three of the matching cousins..., for me it seems the match must come from a different branch

Just a comment on Olga. At her emigration is says residence Farsund, which is in Vanse, Vest-Agder. The birthrecord of Olga above is from Forsand, which is in Strand, Rogaland. 2 complete different locations. Likely (and hopefully); the emigration record has a typo and it should say Forsand. Not sure what is the source for the birthdate 02-02-1879? If it comes from American records, the Olga from Forsand is the correct one. Otherwise, someone has been following the wrong track...

I am leaning toward a name different than Thomas or Tomass for the fathers name as we seemed to have not found a viable candidate for a Rasmus Thomson or variations of that name.

Maybe Torre or Thormod or some such variation that when Americanized becomes Thompson. But someone from the western part of Norway, Hordaland, Rogaland, Møre og Romsdal etc.

Here is one I have not been able to eliminate.

Rasmus Tormodsen
in the Norway, Select Baptisms, 1634-1927
Name: Rasmus Tormodsen
Gender: Male
Birth Date: 3 jan 1863
Baptism Date: 15 mar 1863
Baptism Place: Levig,Forsand,Rogaland,Norway
Father: Thormod Halvorsen
Mother: Kristine Rasmusdr
