I do appeciate all our efforts just wanted to say. By the info on the funeral date I really think his / Rasmus birthday was Jan 9 1964 as it was stated if you do the math.
Im hoping more people do take DNA testing and it makes things clearer?

Maybe Torre or Thormod or some such variation that when Americanized becomes Thompson. But someone from the western part of Norway, Hordaland, Rogaland, Møre og Romsdal etc.

Here is one I have not been able to eliminate.

Rasmus Tormodsen is a good match!
We have a familyconnection to Olga... Her husband Iver Halvarson Underberge is a second cousin to Rasmus' father. Berta Kristina Tormodsdtr. Berge and Halvar Tormodson Gjestaland are siblings.

i. Tormod Håvarson Gjestaland
ii. Halvar Tormodson Gjestaland (1779-1876)
iii. Tormod Halvarson (1817-

i. Tormod Håvarson Gjestaland
ii. Berta Kristina Tormodsdtr. Berge (1849-1938)
iii.Iver Halvarson U-Berge

Or maybe not... something is not right, the age difference is too big. Too many ppl with the same name in Forsand.
But Rasmus Tormodsen is from Underberge also, Levig is part of Underberge, so there are for sure a family tie here between Olgas husband and Rasmus' father.

Here is the baptism record for Rasmus Tormodsen born Jan 3, 1863. One of the witnesses at the baptism was Halvor Iversen Underbege. Likely a son of Iver Halvorson U-Berge .

Nr. 11.

Too many similar names and too late in the evening...

i. Tormod Håvarson Gjestaland - marita halvarsdr Østabø
ii. Halvar Tormodson Gjestaland (1779-1876) - Eli Ivarsdr u-berge 1783-1852
iii. Tormod Halvarson (1817-

i. Tormod Håvarson Gjestaland (1809-) Marta Eline Halvarsdr u-berge (1810-)
ii. Berta Kristina Tormodsdtr. Berge 1849-1938
iii.Iver Halvarson U-Berge (1869-)

Both Olgas husband Iver and Rasmus' father Tormod have a grandfather named Tormod Håvarson Gjestaland, but it's two different persons. possibly two generations apart.

If they are son and grandfather then they're still related just a bit farther back in time.

Geni.com tree of some of the people underdiscusison

https://www.geni.com/people/Marta-Eline-Halvarsdatter/6000000011488660519?through=6000000003095146227

The tree is a mess as it contains some people who do not belong in the tree and does not have some people who do belong. Use with some discretion.

I have a peculiar relationship with Ancestry right now. I'm not a subscriber so your link didn't work. I do have access due to the virus having made my public library close. There are several databases that have Aadne Aadneson Underberge in them. I can only see those that are public...

So is the owner of the base
Inge Noedland
or Stratton Rossavik
or Fox
or S. K. Helland and S.K Helland 2

Aadne Aadnesen UnderBerg and Tormod Halvorsen with wife Kristine/Christine Rasmusdatter Levig and son Rasmus Tormodsen are all in the Forsandboka books but no helpful detail of Rasmus Tormodsen is available in those books after the family left that district to go nearer to Stavanger as is evidenced by the URL links earlier given by lyndal40.

Aadne Aadnesen UnderBerg had at least 9 children and I would have no idea how to make a connection by DNA or tracking his decendancy.

Notes to assist anyone with access to Forsandboka and the interest and/or time to investigate further.
Aadne Aadnesen UnderBerg found on pages 190-191 of Band II.
Tormod Halvarsen (born UnderBerge?) Levik family is found on pages 279-280 of Band I.

The Geni.com Tree above is a mess but it can be used to determine the family relationship. Using it and the family line outlined by Jan Peter above you can see the relationship with the families. Jan Peter was right the first time, there is a relationship, it is just a bit more complicated than first appears.

1. Tormod Halvorsen Gjestaland 1748 - ? married Marita Halvarsdatter Skreå 1739 - about 1791

2.. Halvor Tormodsen III Gjestaland 1779 -1876 married Eli Ivarsdatter U-berge 1783 -1852

3 a. Marta Eline Halvarsdatter u-berge 1810 married Tormod Håverson Gjestaland 1809

4. a. Berta Kristina Tormodsdtr. Berge 1849-1938 married Halvor Iversen u-berge.

5 a. Iver Halvorsen U-Berge 1869 - 1944 married Olga Rasmussen Viga 1879 - 1945 Both Died in Illinois

3 b. Ivar II Halvorsen u-berge 1804 - 1892 married Magla Rasmusdatter Vika 1807 -1888

1. Tormod Halvorsen Gjestaland 1748 - ? married Marita Halvarsdatter Østabø (Skreå} 1739 - about 1791

2. Halvar Tormodsen Gjestaland 1779 - 1876 married Eli Ivarsdater u-berge 1783 - 1852

3 c. Tormod Halvorsen 1817

4 c. Rasmus Tormodsen 1863

Basically Halvar Tormodson Gjestaland 1779 and his wife Eli Ivarsdatter Under-Berge 1783 had three children that all appear in the story for Rasmus Thompson. One of the children was Marta Eline Halvorsdatter who is the mother of Berta Kristine Berge from Illinois. The second child is Ivar II Halvorsen Berge who is likely one of the witnesses for the baptism of Rasmus Tormodson {likely Thompson in America}. The third child was Tormod Halvorsen born in 1817 and the father of Rasmus Tormodson born in 1863 and likely Rasmus Thompson in America.

The common ancestor is Halvar Tormodson Gjestaland 1779 and his wife Eli Ivarsdatter Under-Berge 1783

Halvar Tormodson Gjesteland 1779 and Eli Ivarsdatter Under-Berg
Tormod Halvorsen 1817
Rasmus Tormodsen (Thompson) 1863
Roy Thompson
Roy Earl Thompson
Debbie Thompson

I feel that the above is a correct line. It would be nice to have either the emigration record for Rasmus Tormodson or his arrival record to really nail down the above line. I guess that puts the relationship back four generations. About what the DNA would predict.
