I am searching for information about my great grandfather Andreas (Andrew) Larsen (Larson (1849-1905) and his wife Olena. I think he was born in Heskestad, Rogaland, Norway. He emigrated to US in about 1869. His wife Olena Evensdatter (1850-1925) was possibly born in Loiten, Norway. They married in 1871 according to 1900 US Census. They lived and died in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. I would like any info you can find: parents' names, locations, siblings. Thank you.

In the 1865 Census there is a sister of Oline named Anne Maria Evensdatter, It looks like she has also lived in Dodgeville Wisconsin.

Ann Marie Evensdr
in the U.S., Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Church Records, 1781-1969
Name: Ann Marie Evensdr
Record Type: Confirmation
Birth Place: USA
Confirmation Date: 5 May 1878
Father: Even Jensen
Mother: Berte Johnsdatter
Church Name: Dodgeville Lutheran
Church Location: Dodgeville, Wisconsin

Since she is only 14 in this record she must come to Wisconsin with her parents or siblings.

So here is the family of Even Jensen and wife Berthe Johnsdtter going to Arena Wisconsin in 1874.

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/8/pe00000000009798

Anne Marie above must be this child Marie, age 10 for the trip in 1874, making her a good fit for the confirmation record above.

A little difficult to find these folks in the census records but I suspect that is due to name changes. Here is a James Evans married to a Annie. Possible that this is Jens Evensen.

I am wondering how sure you are about Andreas's birth at Heskestad. I cannot find any candidates there, but I do find one on the very neighboring farm to where Oline lived in 1865. In the 1865 census, Oline lived at 0086 Evenrud, and at 0087 Fallet Øvre there is one Andreas Larsen, son of Lars Gulbrandsen. This Andreas was born on May 8th 1848 (#116), which is the same date that figures in the 1905 death record that Hopkins links to above.

The 1905 death record also gives his parents as Lars Larson and Else Larson. These last names are wrong, but a very understandable mistake by the American clerk in 1905. More interesting is the mother's first name in the same 1905 record, Elsie, which matches the mother's name Else Olsdtr in the 1848 Stange baptism.

This Andrew Larson is the same person that was asked about in 2014 here and most all the same findings in Norway given to the same poster. Why repeat the query?
