It says she died at Vor Frue Hospital, her residence is Søgaden 22. Husband is Handelsborger Ferndinand Ruud, no children.
There seems to be a reference to a testament on page 497, dated 25 Feb 1895, but I can't find it...

Edit: 25 Feb 1895 might be for a license to re-marry.

Something like that

In the Norwegian censuses, I found only one woman whose name started with Ka and whose last name started with Ni with a birthyear approximating Carrie's of 1859 and a Kristiania birth place. That was this person.
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01052055057943

And in 1865:
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01038027053097

But just looked and found her still in Norway in 1891 census living with her mother and her sister and her sister's family. It's not really clear why her family was called Nicholaisen. since her father's name was Karl but....

Philip, can you post Carrie's handwriting of her name from her marriage record or the whole marriage record? Or a link to it, if its online?

Here is a link to the marriage license between Charles and Carrie. I am pretty sure that it does not have her actual signature.

I agree that there is not an original signature of Carrie's on the form. But Charles Dunning's signature is actually on it as "Charley Dunning"

What church is Thomas Lyle rector of?

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M8M9-BKQ

Since he is rector, most likely Episcopalian or Anglican...

In 1906 when he dies he is described as rector emeritus of St. Paul's. He is also mentioned in newspaper accounts in 1885 as rector of Church of the Good Shepherd. Did the Dunnings continue their association to Rev Lyle and the Church of the Good Shepherd, such as baptisms of babies, etc? If they did and the church recorded the events as well as the godparents, its possible that Carrie's local connection, if she had such might be represented in the godparents. Long shot.

There are not a lot of people born in Noway living in Ohio in 1880, but there is one family living in Summit County. Summit County is next to Cuyahoga County.

Here is the family in the 1880 Census Louis Mickleson.

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M8S1-KMH

This is likely the mother and children leaving Oslo in 1872.

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/8/pe00000000922053

Might be worth a longer look.

Here is a possible for the father Louis as Ludwig going earlier in 1872 than Martha:
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/8/pe00000000917891

New York destination....but a lot can change in 8 years. Here Ludvig is in 1865 census:
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01038012002352

Familysearch hints this as correct Ludvig and Marie / Martha # 58, Not sure I "buy" it but :

The bummer of the marriage record of Hans Ludvig is his father is not named but a woman, widow Marta Olsdatter is named instead, perhaps his mother, maybe the old lady living with them in 1865 (although named as wife's mother) and in 1880 census.

Here is a possible:
