I am trying to find any information at all about Peter Falk from Kristiansund who had a son Christian Falk in1841. Christian was born in about 1841 0r 1842. Christian came to England and Married Elizabeth Biggs in 1868. he became a Police constable in Burton Upon Trent England. He appears in the English census in 1871,8181,8191,and 1901. They had two sons, Joseph and Edward. Elizabeth died in 1904. Christian died tragically in 1908. I have been round in circles for years trying to trace how Christian came to England and how/when he became a Naturalized British Subject. any help at all would be amazing . thank you. Hello jkmarler, Thank you for your interest. I have worked on this for a number of years and found the infomation you so kindly sent me already. The part of the story that is missing is the part before Christian came over to England. I cant find his how he became a Naturalized British Subject, How he came to England, His occupation before his life in England and where he actually came from, and who were his parentS It is all a bit of a mystery but hopefully I will find out eventually Kind regards Caroline |

Here is the 2010 topic on Christian Falk: http://www.norwayheritage.com/snitz/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4499
Among the problems you face with this research is that, if Christian was actually born in Christiansund, those vital records were destroyed by fire and are fragmentary. |

hello, thank you for the reply, I have been working on this for several years on ancestry.com and have had to delete some information up to the wedding of Christian to Elizabeth, where Peter Falk is named as Christians Father. Would you care to see what I have so far, I could invite you to see the Falk family ? regards Caroline |

There is a public family tree title O'Neill family tree in Ancestry. They identify your Christian Falk as Christian August Falk, son of Christian Rogert Falk and Anne Sivertsdatter. But they don't include any of the Christian August Falk connections in Norway.
Here he is in the 1865 census, single and employed as a sailor living with his parents and siblings: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01038278002059
Here he is in the 1875 census, married to Johanne Jertine Rodin with their two sons, his father-in-law John Albert Rodin and his parents: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01052326003807
Here he is in 1891 census, married living with family and employees and others: https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01053030002815
A man might have two lives but he only gets one death. Christian August Falk dies in 1905, so cannot be alive to be killed in a train accident in 1908. Something has to give. |

There is this book in the Norwegian National Library. Can anyone take a look and see if there are any helpful connections?

No mention of any Peter or Christian Falk in that book. No mention of any Falk from Kristiansund or Møre & Romsdal at all... |
