Dear Listers!

I have for years been trying to find this guy in America. Maybe the experts on Norway-Heritage can help me?

Søren Kornelius Tygersen, born at Førevikran croft under the Føre farm in Bø, Vesterålen July 22, 1870, emigrated from Bø in 1893 using the farm name Gimstad (his father's home farm).

Somewhere I found his destination as Eau Claire, WI. He had no siblings in the US, but a widowed brother-in-law emigrated in 1893 and settled in Burnett Co., WI.

I would be very happy if someone can manage to figure what became of Søren in America, and thank you very much in advance for any suggestions!

Very sincerely yours,

Lars E. Oyane

Not a lot of useful information in it, but here is an earlier post from Lars on Digitalarkivet.

Søren

His destination was Eau Claire, name was Søren T Grimstad on the emigration record.

The two passengers above him Adolf and Christine Sandø are also going to Eau Claire to their daughter Emilie Borgen {sp?}.

Norwegian record states that his bill was paid in America

Passenger manifest states that the ticket was paid for by J Eleason
