I am looking for any information about my ancestor’s life in Norway before she immigrated to North America (about 1905). Rasmine (Minnie) Olsen was born in Norway on May 9 1876. She was believed to be the daughter of Anna Pedersdatter Alstad (b. 1856) and half sister to Gustave Alfred Lundman (b.1884). Gustave was born in Trondheim/ northern Norway, but it’s possible Rasmine was born elsewhere in the county. Please let me know if you are able to find any info on her!

There are a number of possible Rasmine in Norway, so far none with that birthdate. Why don't you fill in some additional details from North American records on her?

This may not have been listed in the previous thread; half-brother Gustav living with maternal grandfather in 1891. (Link.) So Anne Pedersdatter's father was Peder Andersen at Holplass, Alstad in Skogn, Nordtrøndelag. His wife at the time, Kristine Margrethe Olsdatter, is probably not Anne's mother, if her year of birth is correct.

Thank you! That would definitely fit the timeline. Is there a way to see the original from that link? I know the transcription can be off by a little bit and the original could have more info.

It would appear from the arrival record that her mother was already living in Minnesota? Mothers name could be Anna Bjergaard?

Here is a family tree which includes Anna Pedersdatter Alstad in Ottertail county Minnesota:
https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/landscape/M6GC-TX8

In the Minneapolis Journal Monday 22 July 1901 page 4 col 1 with Fergus Falls byline:
"Judge Frankberg, of the probate court, has issued the final decree in the estate of H.H. Bjergaard, deceased, admitting the will and giving the second wife a life interest in the estate and her son the title in fee simple."

The family tree had their marriage date but here it is copied from MOMS:
OTTER TAIL E-533 10/20/1887 HANSON, HANSTEEN ALSTAD, ANNA PEDERSON

In 1910 census Anna is still in Ottertail county:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M2P9-4QR

Here her birth year is indexed incorrectly as 1803 and if this information about living in US from 1878-1916 is accurate she should be findable in other records.:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:WFJF-S5N2

The card from 1932 also shows Anna has a "son-in-law" named Gust Elstad at Oakes, N.D. Here is a FAG memorial for a Gust F Alstad:
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/143660078/gustav-f.-alstad

In the story about Gust at FAG, it says he and his sister Borghil came to US together. Here they are in the 1900 census in Norway:
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01037426036820

And again in family in 1891 census:
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01053104003245

Borghild's birth / baptism transcribed, her father named Edvard Pedersen Alstad:
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/255/pd00000000894635

Edvard Pedersen Alstad in 1875 census:
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01052377000274

Edvard Pedersen marriage 1876 transcribed
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/327/pv00000000763682

Gustav Edvard birth /baptism transcribed. He is an older brother of Anna, so it was his two children who came to US making Gust Alstad at Oakes Anna's nephew, not necessarily her son-in-law:

Tought to find a Rasmine Ols. in 1900 Census. But I think the Rasmine that Tore found leaving in 1904 is the right one. One would think that she would be living in Alstahaug or near there in 1900. There is a Rasine Martine Rasmusdatter living as a foster datter in Alstahaug in the 1891 Census. Born in 1876.

Here is a Rasine Marthine born in Alstahaug Nordland. May 9, 1876

Nr. 10

Born out of wedlock

Mother is Ane Pauline Pedersdtr

Father is Rasmus Kjercheru Agel Ølsen

Minna Olson is living very near, if not with, Anna and Victor in the 1905 Minnesota census:
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SP32-ZGN

It says she has been there in Minnesota and this enumeration district for 7 months, Anna's time in Minnesota given as 19 years, 8 in this district.
