I'm looking for Halvdan Hansen son of Borger Hansen. I'd like to know if someone know if he changed his name for Hennery Hensen.

Well it might have some validity? The original marriage document lists the parents of Hennery Hansen as Borger Hansen of ? (hard to read but could be some french version of Larvig Norway) and Laura Olsen.

French version looks something like Laurwig Norwege?

In the 1901 Canadian Census, Henry is listed as emigrating in 1895.

I would suggest that this is him as Halfdan Hansen leaving in June of 1895 with some siblings except it lists his age as 8 years old? Perhaps it should be 18? Going to West Rutland Vermont.

Thank you AntonH for all the information you give me.

On your post 08/07/2021: 17:32:27 where you write about Halfvan Hansen and Hennery Hansen: 'Now can these two be tied together?' I believe the answer is yes.
To confirm this I wrote to Lina Sjolie a descendant of Olaf Sjolie and Solveig Sjolie (Hansen). His maternal great-grandfather Godberg Hansen was Halfdan Hansen's brother. I will give you the result of my approach if it is successful.

On this post http://www.norwayheritage.com/snitz/pop_printer_friendly.asp?TOPIC_ID=6400 she writes: Borger Hansen and Laura Olsdatter (Olsen) are my great great grandparents. Let me know if I can be of any help.

See you soon!

My name is Pierre Gilbert and my grandmother was called Marie-Bertha Hansen.

(1875 census )
About https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01052139000662

On this record the name of Halfdan age 0 (1875-Laurvig) is Borgersen
and the name of his daughter Hansine age 1 (1874-Laurvig) is Borgersen too.

Borgersen = Borger son = son of Borger = children of Borger and = perhaps not children of Laura Olsen.

Who knows.

A curiosity. Halfdan is a Norse name and means Half Dane
