I found a record in 1871 that shows Neri Aslaksen and Ragnild Olsdtr and it listed Aslak Olsen and Margit Nerisdatter as parents of Neri. Can you tell me what this documents shows? https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/60722/images/41742_314957-00021?treeid=&personid=&hintid=&queryId=3813abf758662218f8dfeb880d915e7a&usePUB=true&_phsrc=KNx285&_phstart=successSource&usePUBJs=true&_ga=2.235662849.1627461217.1629069712-1388710246.1627608102&_gac=1.238675252.1629213165.EAIaIQobChMIo9Hs-6u48gIVRuTICh2W5g5cEAAYASAAEgKlZvD_BwE&pId=1052789092 It comes from Lakeville MN Christiania Lutheran Church.

I see now that the record I found is the same as ToreL's post of the marriage of Neri and Ragnild in 1871. Wow what a day. I now have the birth and death dates for both GGG Grandparents. Their son Neri's grave is not too far from where I live and I plan to go see it soon. Funny how he ended up in ND. Eventually, I will also go to see Aslak and Margit's graves at Lakeville MN - if I'm able to locate the grave yard for the Christiania Lutheran Church. Thank you ToreL for finding both death records. It means a lot when you can finally locate and complete your family history.

I read Nerie Aadnesen and Jorrond Tiyrdal. I am a little uncertain about the "Tiyrdal" part, but it turns up again when searching for Nerie Aadnesen at Digitalarkivet, and looking at the original (middle of left page) this time, there is less doubt. Tiyrdalen would almost certainly be spelled differently today, but I have no clue how.

Neri's own baptism might be the second one in the second column here, on Allehelgensdag (All Saints Day) 1723, November 1.

And thanks to you for an interesting challenge.

I just noticed that in your initial post you supplied your own transcription Jorrand Fyrdal, which looks a lot more like a regular Norwegian place name. I still do think there is an i in front of the y, and more so in the other record I found, but the puzzle remains.

There is a new bygdebook for Lårdal (Lårdal Ætt og Heim) by Tarjei Førstøyl that might shed some light on this. No online version exists, but there should be a good chance that eventually someone here will check it out in paper.

Yes I got Margit's mother's name Jorrand Fyrdal from the birth record listed on Ancestry.com. https://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv=1&dbid=60092&h=3652230&tid=&pid=&queryId=0b327a71ab7c53eca3e2789ddd89f03c&usePUB=true&_phsrc=KNx293&_phstart=successSource
I thought it odd that she was not listed as a datter and thought it may be a farm name. That's why I was asking. Thanks for explaining.
