I am a writer looking for a crew list of the ship Nornen in 1897 or 1896. In 1897 The Nornen was sailing as a cargo ship between Bristol UK and Brunswick Georgia in USA, The ship was owned by Larson / Lauritz and the Captain at the time was Pedr Olsen. |

From Times-Picayune (New Orleans) Monday 22 Mar 1897 page 11:
"An attempt was made to effect repairs on the bark Nornen (Nor.) from Bristol for Brunswick, which went ashore near Bridgewater, England March 8. An attempt was also made to float the vessel, and all of her ballast was thrown out. The attempt was unsuccessful, and a gale which was then prevailing, has driven the vessel further inshore. The neap tides are prevailing." |
