That is a good find. In 1880 Census the family lived in Sullivan, Jefferson County and that is only 30 miles from the western edge of Milwaukee.

But I might have to question my post for the FAG of Margrethe. Here is the birth record for the Margrethe born June 21 1878 and the parents do not match the child from John and Mary Anderson of Jefferson County?

Margrethe Anderson
in the Wisconsin, U.S., Births and Christenings Index, 1801-1928

Name Margrethe Anderson
Gender Female
Birth Date 21 Jun 1878
Birth Place Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States
Father
Jchimne (Jim) Anderson
Mother
Dora Alabouh

The FAG record does not actually give an exact birth date on the grave stone but the accompanying FAG record does give a birth date.

FAG

Very often on FAG that there is a full date in the "extra" data but not on the stone, itself.

Well this may be a long shot but it is all I have. Here is a family in Jefferson County Wisconsin in the 1870 Census, born 1854 Norway.

Not much information on him but one of his siblings does give some information. I would not trust all of the links on the page

He and his father emigrated to Quebec in 1870

Anders Larsen

A closer look shows most of the same people leaving together that match with the family from the 1870 census including the mother and one of the daughters Albertine.

Now I was rolling along quite well but just now came across this record for a John Loff living in Chicago Illinois. I do not have a sold link from the John Anderson of the Anders Larsen family found in Lake Mills, Jefferson, Wisconsin in the 1870 Census and the John Anderson married to Mary Anderson (born Gulbrandsdatter) found in Sullivan Jefferson County Wisconsin.

It is possible there is no connection and the the John Anderson of the Anders Larsen family is this guy living in Chicago

John Loff
in the Illinois, U.S., Deaths and Stillbirths Index, 1916-1947
Name John Loff
Birth Date 30 Oct 1853
Birth Place Norway
Death Date 1 Jul 1932
Death Place Chicago, Cook, Illinois
Burial Date 4 Jul 1932
Burial Place Evanston, Cook, Illinois
Cemetery Name Memorial Park
Death Age 78
Occupation MacHinist
Race White
Marital Status M
Gender Male
Residence Chicago, Cook, Illinois
Father Name Andrew Loff
Father Birth Place Norway
Mother Name Julia Olson
Mother Birth Place Norway
Spouse Name Anna Loff
FHL Film Number 1893254

The father of the family is Anders Larsen Løff in the 1865 Norwegian Census

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/census/person/pf01038013010188

John Lauff in Chicago in 1880

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MXNR-2R5

Obviously need some moe work tomorrow

I don't know if this is the original for the transcribed emigration list at Digitalarkivet, but Maren Olsdatter is on that list as well:

https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/9/og00000000411998

(Type prev to see Gurine, Lina and their mother.)

Theoretically Maren Olsdatter could be Maren Gulbrandsdatter's daughter from before she met Lars, but I don't find a corresponding baptism, and the younger Maren was not living with the others at the 1865 census. (The confusing reference to Branvold is probably due to sloppy use of "ditto" in the original record.)
