Hey!

I have returned to my search for my 4th great-grandaunt Berte Olsdatter Tranbye Eie, essentially starting from scratch, to hopefully find out more information. I got information on all of Berte's relatives, but only she remains a mystery.

The information I got:

Baptism on 15 Sep 1811 Berte to Ole Evensen Tranbye Eie and Aasa Tostensdatter (Norderhov, Buskerud, Norway).

Left Page | 4. https://media.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/8526/42031/72

Confirmation on 21 Sep 1828 Berte Olsdatter to Ole Evesen and Aaasa Tostensdat Tranbye Eie (Norderhov, Buskerud, Norway) Age: 16 1/2.

Checked the following records in green, but would appreciate a second look. The red are the remaining records I got to search:

Moving forward with the below entries. Please let me know if someone finds the death record of either Ole or Berte, or possible children :)

Left Page | 57. Marriage 27. December 1844 Ole Olsen Semmeneie 50 (Father Ole Olsen) and Berte Olsdatter Ovreeie 50 (Father Ole), looks like Berte's age may be wrong here, father matches but no last name. Ovreeie is also known as Aure Eie.

Left Page | 10. Death 26 Jan 1849 Ole Olsen Semmeneie
https://www.digitalarkivet.no/en/view/267/pg00000008373307

That's probably going to make it a little bit more difficult to find Berte...

Berte Olsdatter Blixrudeie (same farm name as her brother) but they recorded her as 86 instead of 56? Thoughts?

You'd think she'd be findable in the 1865 census:

You would think so... I keep going through multiple platforms hoping to find the entry that I am looking for because I don't want to go through all the books again..

If at all helpful, the location of Semmen seems to be parted into North, Middle, and South Semmen... Also doesn't make it any easier that there appears to be another couple Berte Olsdatter/Ole Andersen

Not a total long shot. I am doubtful though. How often have you seen a boy or girl adapt a middle name at a later stage in life during that period of time?

It would be unusual that it wouldn't have been in the baptism, or other records but you had a Berthe Marie in your list of possibles earlier. But she might be one you could eliminate which would consign you to searching all the deaths after Ole Olsen Semmeneie again!!

There appears to be at least two hands writing on this page, using different abbreviations for words. Whatever the word is described the quantity of 42, I would still guess it to be a rendition of years old, rather than 42 days or 42 months both of which would be kind of awkward.

I think this child (barn) is 18 weeks old rather than days.

If she is the one all you have to do is figure why she isn't obvious in the 1865 census!

I can't find anything that is actually verifiable. I looked at the censuses, and different death records, it's just a mess...

For example, here is a Berte Olsdatter ~1812, married to a John Olsen, but Berte's place of Birth of Næs Hallingdal is 80 km Northwest of Tranby... Astridbraaten is also far north of Lunder...

Does it look like they may not have done a count of Oppegaard that year? Is that possible? https://media.digitalarkivet.no/view/38084/46

The question is if there are any children at all? Or maybe Berthe was a witness to other births?

Also, I never looked at "Dødsanmeldelsesprotokoll" before, but you made me look for Berthe Olsdatter's one. Looks like there is one here. Can you transcribe that one? Looks like there are a lot of children and also a birth day of 30 Dec 1812, so we can probably rule this one out?

Even though the columns are not labelled, usually the first date 13 May 1871 is the date of death and the other two dates usually have to do with the dates that were taken by the sheriff or reported to the sheriff.

Berte is survived by 5 children named Oline, Marie, Kari, Ragnhild and Ole and of which only one is a minor child.

Not Torkild's children but the rest I have to hum on, and then an important date 30 July 1854.

I think we did some searching for a connection to your people to Oppegaard farm on one of your topics. Berte was not an owner of Oppegaard but a "servant" of the farm both she and her husband, whatever his name.

I see 6 listings from Norderhov for farm named Oppegaard, #445a, 446a, 425b, 446b, 446d.

And the given birthdate differs from the baptism date of target Berthe.

Nothing new that I can read from this, but still interesting

This is my family, but I don't think it's the same as the Even from 1746.

https://eriksenslekt.blogspot.com/2021/09/slektens-gang-pa-ringerike-fra.html

I really wonder what happen to my 5th great-granduncle Peder Evensen, did he die between 1776 and 1801 or did he move elsewhere? His brother and my 5th great-grandfather Ole Evensen still lived with his parents in 1801..
